Light, durable and reliable! A wonderful travel companion.
I am writing this review as I just purchased my fourth suitcase of this type. It is so absolutely wonderful. I travel quite a bit. This white one has lasted three years traveling through the states and abroad. My orange ones have lasted even longer. I can't tell you how many times an airlines sees the suitcase and tells me their weight limit because they think I have gone over. It never does. Trust me when I say I over pack for trips. The suitcase is so light your weight comes from your contents. It has one fault and that is that it scuffs so very easily. It can look ugly very quickly, so always remember to have a magic eraser for those scuffs. Personally, I gave up cleaning it years ago because a beat up suitcase is a well traveled suitcase. I just bought my fourth one yesterday in a dark color. Let's see if that makes any difference. But honestly, even if it doesn't, it does not take away a star because it is so durable. The wheels and the zippers are sturdy like the suitcase. Nothing has broken in all of my travels. I am just getting a new one to have a fresh start. This white one will spend its retirement years holding storage because it is so spacious. I would never throw out this trusted travel companion. Lol It is a shame that they do not make these anymore. When I Google comparisons to other newer versions, this one always comes out on top in the durability department.

Liked it so much we bought 2 more!
I travel a LOT for work. And I'm an over-packer. So this is the perfect bag for me. First off, it looks quite fab...the eggplant purple color looks better in person and is quite unique and stylish. This has been on 4 round trips cross country with me now and tho scratched up a bit and lost her little "Samsonite" label tag (sad face), she's otherwise in great shape and appears ready for anything. I have dragged my little travel companion here over rocky parking lots, gravel, cobblestones, dodgy carpets, up and down endless escalators, up and down concrete hotel stairs, lugged her into and out of innumerable taxis and rental cars...and she's still in prime shape, ready for her next adventure. No problems ever with zipper or wheels or general sturdiness AT ALL. Very lightweight! Wheels being spinners take all the pressure off you so no pulling or pushing...it's like walking a well behaved little dog that trots alongside you. Love the "expander" that lets you pack more stuff than you planned! They zip down if not needed too. Great feature. Last week I took this to San Fran for a 3 day trip and it held WITH expander open all this: gym bag completely filled with gym gear and shoes, 2 pairs calf length boots, 1 pair regular heels, 3 extremely bulky sweaters, 3 pairs jeans, pajamas, couple t-shirts, necessities, a bubble wrapped glass candle to scent the hotel room, makeup bag approximately 12" x 12" x 3" (it takes a Village...!) and more stuff - and I STILL had a bit of room left. Note that I didn't "roll up" clothes - just folded some and others just "stuffed in" as I was on the rush. So if you did it properly and cared about such things, I'm sure it could hold a small closet especially if it were just your summer clothes. On one non business trip, we packed a King sized blanket and pillow in one and a giant leaf blower in another one with 2+ foot lengths of driftwood jammed in as well, no problems. Yes. It's amazing what this can handle. Only downside is this thing IS huge. If expander is open, I hate using escalators bc it gets a bit dodgy sitting on the little step correctly - so I just use elevators then, no issue It might just be me who finds this tricky tho. Hoisting it into and out of my rental car is always is fun but that's true of any giant bag like this. Wish it wouldn't scratch so much but that's true of all hard shell bags also and it doesn't mar how cute it is. I LOVE the purple eggplant color! Still looking good after lots of abuse and scratching really isn't so bad considering all the flights this thing has been on and the abuse I've subjected her to. It's always the ONLY hard shell purple case on the baggage carousel so very easy to look for. As I can't be bothered to figure out the lock it came with, I just use my regular luggage lock and it works perfectly all together. If you need a BIG bag that's sturdy and reliable, and looks fab as well, this is the One!

Great large suitcase
Great large suitcase! Used recently on a cruise and it was fantastic. Wheels worked great through airports, hotels and cruise terminals. Easy to move with one hand. Large enough to fit everything for a 6 night cruise for 2 people without exceeding the airline weight limit. Still fit under the bed in the cabin. Zero scratches, dents or damage afterwards. Overall very pleased.

Great bag for any type of traveler
I would give 4.5 stars if I could. Honestly so far this bag has been great for me. Being able to open it in the middle means there's less stacks of clothes to sift through to find what you want to wear. The zippable divider also makes it easier to separate clothes, e.g. clean and dirty. I've taken it on a flight (it's size was perfect and complied with Spirit's rigid size limitation for a CHECKED bag. I've also taken it on 2 road trips with only scuffs to show for it. The wheels seem awkward but I was very pleasantly surprised to see how well they went over even rough surfaces, and their not being fixed makes it easy to roll several different ways, and the handle for that has held up. The lock works well, TSA had no problems with it, I'll take a pic of the instructions for it and post it later in case anyone lost theirs. Handles seems little weak to me, but they've held up so far through airport baggage handlers, as well as my own lugging it around with up to 40 lbs. I'm sure I could go more but that was Spirit's limit. The smooth surface makes it easy to slide across surfaces, so if you cram it in a car there's not gonna be a lot of friction getting it in or out as with a cloth bag. In addition it makes it water resistant, so even in pretty heavy rain or puddles your stuff will stay dry. Although if you're like me, orange isn't really your color, and it's a little loud, BUT you'll be happy when baggage claim comes as the bag is very easy to spot. After all it's a suitcase, not a watch, it's not really saying that much about you. People have complained that the zipper broke easy, and I will admit that I was surprised at how often it does zip improperly. BUT this is based off my high expectations of Samsonite, so it's not bad just not as good as I'd have hoped. As far as breaking, if you're mildly observant, you'll notice when the zipper misaligns and just unzip and rezip it, that's really all you have to do. Don't force it or just assume it's small and let it go, just rezip it. Takes maybe 3 seconds. So this was the biggest con as I was expecting YKK zipper quality, but this is just average. CONS: The bars for the drag handle protrude into the bag. This is common, but I've no clue why as it's just a nuisance that means you have to line your suitcase with socks/underwear or rolled clothes to avoid creases. Someday they'll figure it out and put them on the outside. Not a big problem, just annoying. I'll update as time goes on.

Great suitcase
I bought the white medium sized suitcase in Nov 2023 and it’s held up well since then. I probably use it 2-4 times a year for personal trips. The white is nice because it’s easier to spot among a sea of black and navy suitcases- I put vinyl stickers on mine for extra ease of identification (and fun). The only downside of the white color is that it gets black scuff marks on it pretty much immediately, so if that bothers you I’d pick a darker color. It’s a decent size for about a weeks worth of travel, although I could see wanting a bigger suitcase for longer stays (or to allow more shopping at your destination). Wheels and handles all seem very sturdy, and while I haven’t dragged it around a ton I don’t baby it either. While there are suitcases out there that look more fancy I don’t really feel the need to upgrade, and probably wouldn’t unless I suddenly started traveling a lot more.

Great brand, even better patient leather, shiny look! Thrilled!
I just fell in love with this luggage immediately after opening the box! Absolutely LOVE the shiny "patient leather" like appearance of this piece, in addition to the richness of the color! If you love shiny patient leather looks, this piece is for you! I just travelled within the past week with a no name brand so I can tell its going to be so much easier with this Samsonite bag. Its incredibly lightweight! I do trust the brand but don't know if that honestly is going to mean anything for longevity, etc. but I seriously can't wait to use it.

One of the best sets of luggage available in this price category...and substantially better than most in any price range!
This is the 3rd set of these bags I've purchased. I own 2 full sets myself and just bought the purple set for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift...her luggage was falling apart on us when we were traveling so she always used one of my sets anyway. They really are incredible pieces of luggage...to date I've had them out in the rain, loaded them up with upwards of 150 lbs and then thrown a 100 lb duffel on top and still rolled them around with relative ease and with no degradation or breaks in the wheels (although with this much weight the bag will start to sag if you have the expansion zipper unzipped...which I think should probably be expected). Thus far the only two issues I've had with any of them is that: ...one telescoping handle on the carry on of one of my sets is slightly bent now after I dropped it down an escalator with the handle extended. The impact at the bottom with 65 lbs of weight behind it was enough to cause a small bend. As a result it didn't slide in and out quite as easily as before until I took two minutes to gently bend it back. Now it works perfectly but has a blemish. ...someone tried to break into one of them in Thailand and ripped a zipper tab off entirely as well as bending up a number of teeth. They didn't actually get anything out of it, but I did have to send the bag to the service center in Singapore. This might surprise you, but they don't cover lunatic thief damage in the warranty so it cost a few bucks to get a new tab. I actually opted for buying TWO new tabs so they matched perfectly...so that was a few more dollars on top of the few dollars it had cost before! Vanity. It'll get you every time. Otherwise these bags have been abused by literally dozens and dozens of angry airport baggage handlers, bored taxi drivers, underpaid hotel and bus porters, and I've never gotten them back with anything inside damaged. PS4 always works like a charm and my shampoo is always in the bottle where it belongs! They're exactly what you'd want in a functional suitcase. One thing that might be nice would be more handles...the carry on only has one handle on the top, and would greatly benefit from one on the side like it's two larger counterparts, and it would be nice if there was an indention or some other way to grip the bottom...throwing this onto the top of a truck when it's fully loaded when all you can hold onto is one handle and a wheel is not fun. ...but to be fair, most of Samsonite's target demo won't be throwing this suitcase onto the top of a truck. So there's that! :)

Great features but horrible wheels
I’ve been a loyal samsonite owner since before my first flight. My parents bought samsonite for all our trips. And it’s usually quality luggage at reasonable prices. But I have to say this is my first disappointing purchase. Below is my review after 4 trips: Firstly, it’s not all bad. On the positive side: - It has the classic compartments I love from samsonite - including 2 well balanced sections split roughly 50/50: an open section with straps to secure clothes and a fully covered zipped section for items that may need extra security, with organising pockets on the outside of the cover for toiletries and sundries. Most other luggage brands get this wrong for my tastes. They normally have the majority of the case open with a sliver of zipped compartment you can barely put socks in. Or they go too overboard with the compartments restricting my ability to pack how I want too. - The ability to expand it is super useful and actually expands a decent amount. It’s been needed twice now when I did some unexpected shopping or needed to carry things back for others. - Unlike others I haven’t had a single problem with zippers. - Sturdy handles. This case has been tossed when over airline weight limits and dragged upstairs (I’m not very strong) with no sign of the handles failing. The telescopic handle for rolling is really sturdy unlike most other pieces of luggage I’ve used. But that could be because it only opens up to one relative short position due to the height of the suitcase. On the ‘meh’ side: - The weight. I wouldn’t say this is super light. But I’ve had heavier suitcases. It may only be a deal breaker if you tend to pack heavier items like dress shoes or full sized toiletries. Now on to my disappointment and buyers remorse: - First and foremost the wheels are horrible. On my current trip, which prompted this review, it’s been like pushing a shopping cart with a wonky wheel around. It shouldn’t be that way after just 4 trips where it’s mainly been rolled indoors, not on concrete or asphalt. I’ve found it now rolls best when I position it at a 45degree angle to my body which causes me to either constantly kick it or lean over an uncomfortable amount to avoid kicking it. And that’s on hard smooth surfaces. On carpets or anything bumpy, forget about it. It’s like pushing or dragging it through quicksand. This is I think due to the small wheels that wear easily. The heavy weight of my bag probably doesn’t help but I’ve had bags the same size that weighed more with no problems with manoeuvrability. - Less important to me, but I know it may be important to others, it scratches very easily. After my first trip with it looked like it’d been on its 100th trip with me. For me this isn’t a deal breaker so long as it holds up and keeps my belongings safe. All in all I’ll likely purchase a new suitcase while on this trip as I’m staying in several places and can’t fathom struggling with it throughout my travels like I did coming from the airport. BUT I will likely buy samsonite again. My current favourite suitcase is mid-samsonite (stryde range) and I’ve had it longer than this one and I love it. So I’m hoping this is a fluke. Also newer models have and upgraded double wheel design (including stride) which I hope will resolve the manoeuvrability issues. If not, I will start considering other brands.

Fermeture intérieeure montée à l'envers.
Jolie valise, jolie marque, je ne l'ai pas vérifiée avant de partir et une fermeture est montée à l'envers. Dommage.

Me encantó
Gracias Amazon y Samsonite.

Great product!!!!
Arrived on time and they look even better thank on the photo. They get wider when unzipped and create a lot more space to fit more things. Very resistant to scratches and gals from travelling. Price is great and quality as well.
