Do not purchase!
This is the second moonfree sterilizer i have purchased off AMAZON in the past 2 years the first one lasted almost a year and did great until the heating element went out. I ordered this one and it was bigger and heavier so I thought it would be better quality and NOPE ! The first time using it the temperature gauge did not even work at all. Did not raise temperature! Second time nothing as well. Luckily another artist in my shop had a sterilized I could use . Contacted moonfree and they want to send me a heating element and not a new unit. Messaged them 8 days ago still no heating element. But when I purchased it I got It in 2 days. I would not recommend this company for a sterilizer I think they should be taken off Amazon!

He gets the job done but it really is cumbersome
This has got to be the most Time consuming auto clave I’ve ever used. You had to set your own timer otherwise it can overheat your packaging and cause a fire inside the pot and burn the plastic. I think it’s overpriced because it’s a very basic machine. You have to get used to having to screw on and screw off every single seal. It’s not very straightforward requires a lot of steps

I do not use this as an autoclave, but it works great for my purposes.
So I needed a vessel that I can use for two purposes. First, I needed one that doesn't have to be sealed that can maintain very specific temperatures for 30 minutes. To do this, I used a temperature controller with a probe so when the temp was below my intended setting it provided power to the autoclave and when it reached the temp the power was cut. It worked very well with this autoclave to maintain the 150 degree temp I wanted. I drilled a 3/4 inch hole in the lid so the autoclave was open and would not build pressure. I then installed a copper "bulkhead adapter" so it was open but threaded. This also let me put the temp probe wire through the top. Secondly I needed this to function as a desalinator. So I have a pipe that screws onto the bulkhead adapter mentioned above. Now it is enclosed but still doesn't build pressure as the steam vapor from the non-potable water just travels up the pipe. But it is fully contained so the vapor doesn't go where I don't want it. For this purpose I didn't use the temperature sensor/controller and just plugged in the autoclave directly. The autoclave is well built and has two popoff valves on top. The main ring feels like cast iron with large bolts/wing nuts all around the rim. This should function very well for it's intended purpose as well as for my needs.

Good and Solid
The number one thing you want a autoclave to be is well made and this one is nice and solid with a good quality feel to it. Everything fit nicely and tightened down smoothly. 5 STARS

Smooth, solid seal and fit
The Mxmoonfree 8L Lab Autoclave, Portable Steam Autoclave for Lab Equipment is a very well made and sturdy unit which gives it a leg up on many other autoclaves. It all fits together perfect and seals up tight.

Started Leaking From Electrical Coil Connection
Worked great for about 15 cycles, then started leaking from the electrical input, which interfaces with the heating coil. Leaking water and electricity is a NO GO for me; practically a waste of money. Typical epoxy will not seal it. I tried. Tying some high heat metallic JB Weld next...

Terrible business
Selling a medical device with an instruction manual written in incomprehensible English is completely unacceptable. The instructions are not just poorly written—they are impossible to follow. The sentences make no sense, and some of the words used are not even real, rendering the manual useless. This is a serious safety concern. A medical-grade device cannot be operated properly without clear, accurate instructions, and providing a product in this condition is negligent. The pressure sterilizer I purchased did not come with a proper instruction manual. The only guidance provided is a short video on Amazon, which is insufficient for a device of this nature. As this is marketed as a medical-grade machine, I find it unacceptable and unsafe to operate without clear, detailed instructions. Additionally, there are several inconsistencies between the product description, the video, and the actual device received. The listing states that the unit operates on 110V; however, the cable on the device is labeled 16A 250V, which raises concerns about compatibility and safety. The instructional video indicates that pressure should be released when the gauge reaches 0.05 MPa, but the gauge on the unit I received is marked from 0 to 0.4 MPa and does not include a 0.05 indicator. Furthermore, the video shows a black internal gauge with a clearly marked danger zone, yet the device I received has no such safety indicator. This omission is extremely concerning for equipment that operates under pressure and could pose a serious risk of injury if used improperly. Lastly, the video instructs users to open the air release valve to discharge “cold air,” which is confusing and misleading given that the machine generates high-temperature steam. Due to these issues—lack of proper instructions, inconsistencies in specifications, and missing safety indicators—I do not feel safe using this product and am extremely dissatisfied with its quality. I am concerned that it could pose a risk to both myself and my customers. I am requesting a full refund immediately. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will escalate the matter further.
