These have been working great, and come with a good bag of yerba, and a good value, considering this set just costs a little more than a single gourd and bombilla. As far as the negative reviews, I want to remind folks, these are made from natural gourds (similar to a small pumpkin), so they will not be the same size, shape, or color. They also require curing. This is typical of any gourd for drinking yerba mate, not just this brand. The inside is going to look like a gutted gourd (or a gutted small pumpkin). When you first fill them for curing, they will leak a bit from the bottom, and some skin will flake off inside. That's why they need to be cured. When they are ready, the inside will be nice and clean, and the leaking will stop. The instructions are very clear about this, and are well written. The only thing I cringe about in the instructions is, it says to remove the woody stem on the inside, during curing. I've heard this can cause a permanent leak, and it doesn't seem necessary, so you may not want to remove it. Bottom line: if you want them to be all identical and ready to drink without any curing, you should not be buying a gourd; buy a plastic or metal container. But if you want to drink your yerba mate out of authentic, natural gourds, this set is a good value.

This is my first foray into the Yerba Mate environment and these gourds are great. They do leak from the top trim but if you just don't over fill it it's fine. Be sure to follow the seasoning instructions, even though it seems weird. It's natural for them to sweat a bit for the first few uses.

I loved drinking yerba matte through the gourds. The taste profile was significantly different than in a mug/glass. The size of the gourds are a bit large, you end up using a lot of matte. As well, the metal straws do not seem to effectively filter the leaves. I didn't mind but my mother-in-law did not like it. As well, There is a lot of mess/cleaning after and I was not exactly sure if I should clean it with soap etc. Pieces of the actual gourd came out. I was told there is a way to season/prime the cup, I definitely missed this step.

Mediocre but passing One of my gourds was in really poor condition. There is a curing process you have to go through as well with these otherwise you’re going to feel like you are drinking wood. For the price, it’s what I expected however if you want a better experience, spend the extra money and get a nicer cup.

This set has everything needed to enjoy yerba mate: gourds, bombillas, and a scoop. The gourds feel solid and are easy to clean. It’s a great way to get started with mate without buying multiple separate items, and the quality feels better than expected for the price.

Very poor quality craftsmanship. The gurd leaks so when one is drinking the mate hot water drops leak from the bottom (center) of the gurd. It is not returnable so one gets stock with it. Shame

While the gourd is Calabash its size is tiny not enough to enjoy the yerba mate. The bombilla is cheap metal, not quality Alpaca.

Ich habe kürzlich das BALIBETOV Mate-Set mit zwei Kalebasse und Yerba Mate gekauft. Leider kam eine der Kalebasse kaputt an, aber der Kundenservice von Balibetov war absolut fantastisch. Sie haben den beschädigten Artikel sofort und ohne Probleme ersetzt. Das ist ein Service, den man sich nur wünschen kann! Abgesehen von diesem kleinen Vorfall bin ich mit den Produkten sehr zufrieden. Die Mate-Gefäße sind wunderschön und die Qualität der Bombillas ist ausgezeichnet. Die beiliegende Yerba Mate-Mischung ist ebenfalls sehr lecker. Ich kann die Produkte von Balibetov nur wärmstens empfehlen und werde definitiv wieder bei ihnen bestellen. Ein großes Dankeschön an das Team für den tollen Kundenservice!
