Are these live or dead?

The website says they are freeze-dried and can withstand warmer temps when shipped but they recommend you put them in the fridge after opening… it keeps a lot longer than leaving it out (two weeks outside the fridge)… It’s Kosher, too, if needed!! I put it in my smoothies and it seems to help my gut quite fine!
