The PERFECT electric kettle!!!
Love my water kettle so much! For years I heated water in microwave for each cup of tea...so very inconvenient but seemed easier than using the quality tea kettle I own on stove top for each cup of tea. If u want boiling water for any reason, only a few xtra seconds and u have it! I have started using it to boil water for use in cooking as it is lightning fast. I heat the water in this amazing kettle, and then pour it into my cooking pan on stove top. With my new electric kettle, it is so easy to fill w water enough for several cups, and use it to heat water to perfect temp for each cup of tea. It does not get warm on the outside, anywhere, the toggle on/off switch is so easy to toggle on and the water gets heated to perfect temp in a snap...so much faster than my old kettle, which is NOT electric. This electric kettle is gorgeous for my kitchen counter and does not take up a burner on my stove. It is so lightweight in terms of use and I love that it separates from its heating element and is therefore cordless when I go to pour hot water into my tea cup. It is all stainless steel internally, so my heated water is not exposed to fumes from any plastic parts, including the spout, also stainless steel. The gorgeous light weight plastic is only on the exterior of kettle, which makes it very easy to lift and light weight. It is a clever and PERFECT design and reasonably priced for a very quality kettle, which truly does make my days easier. Thank you so much! I would buy another if needed and highly recommend! I drink tea all day long and this kettle makes the prep experience so much more pleasant. I used to dread the tea making process and now look forward to it as much as drinking tea. My only complaint is I would’ve preferred a white color, and tho u offer a pretty white one, it was unavailable at time of my order. Thank you very much for my awesome electric kettle!

Love this cheap easy to use electric kettle
This works great for heating medium to large amounts of water. I use it to make tea and it’s super easy to use. The plug may draw a lot of power because one of my GFCI outlets in my kitchen tripped while it was plugged in so I’m using it on a non GFCI outlet and it’s working great. I would recommend it for anyone who makes tea or heats larger volumes of water. Basically the midline fill is hit when I empty my Brita pitcher into it from full. Simple easy and fast and wasn’t too expensive I’m happy. No special dials or controls though for water temperature which would have been nice but a helpful tip for making green tea which is better not being out directly into boiling temp water just fill a mug and let it sit for 3 minutes at room temp to cool down a bit and then toss in the tea bag.

Meets all my Criteria, Looks and Performs as expected
All stainless inside. I got the orange to be fun and because there wasn't a green option available. Fired it up 3 times tonight! It looks durable, heats quickly and is quieter than my old GE stainless. Stays cool to the touch on outside. We're English and drink a lot of tea so my criteria was simple. Large enough to fill a tea pot, quick boiling, no plastic or silicone inside (which typically means you can't have an external water viewer), sturdy and attractive or fun looking. Handle placement and lid placement was also key to avoid hot steam when refilling or pouring. This has a button on the handle to open the lid so you don't have to pull the top off by hand and risk burning. Some reviewers didn't like that the lid doesn't fully fold back, but I see that as a safety feature, it folds back more than enough to fill it and acts as a steam guard on consecutive boils/refills. Although it doesnt have an external water level viewer, it is stamped on the stainless inside. The handle placement is on the side vs. the top (which some of the prettier models had) again can be too hot and I felt was a nuisance on my old kettle, so I like that the handle is not over the lid or close to the spout. It feels very comfortable and safe to pour/grasp. This unit checked all the basic boxes and looks cool too. Durability is also important, so if I have problems, I'll edit this rating. But initially very pleased, and a great value! **update** a year later and still awesome!

A close approach to a British electric kettle
It doesn't heat water as fast as its counterparts across the pond, but that's not its fault: They have 250 volt juice there, while we have only only120 volts. But it's pretty fast, faster and more convenient than a kettle on our gas stove. It's handsome, easy to use, and pours neatly. It holds heat pretty well, so boiled water left a little while can be returned to a boil quickly. The instructions are clear and understandable. A minor drawback is that the automatic shutoff won't work unless it is holding at least a half liter of water, so for a single cup of hot water we fall back on the microwave. This isn't something to ignore, because if the shutoff fails the kettle can boil dry and burn out its heating element. It also would be nice if the internal level marks were repeated on the other side, visible regardless of the direction of the incident light. If you have a lot of lime or other minerals in your water like we do, pay attention to the cleaning instructions. Cleaning isn't hard, but it must be done once in a while.

Not so much on the color BUT Awesome performance and energy-efficient
Update: I love this thing so much that I wanted to provide an update. I use this at least twice a day, and more if I want boiling water for any cooking use at all. If I want to make pasta, boil potatoes, whatever, I put my kettle on and it is so much faster than waiting for a pot to boil, but I also put a little water in the pan on the stove and get it boiling, too, so that when I pour in my kettle's worth of hot water, I'm well ahead of the process. I've also had no problem with "rusting" or staining at all, my cord isn't heating up, and my only regret with this kettle is that I didn't get one sooner. Also, re the raisin color: it's still ugly, but I have found amusement in coming up with descriptions of the color, and the laughing offsets the ugly factor. There's always a silver lining. So, I got the Dark Purple because I was being cheap. It's my own choice, and I did not rate the color. This isn't dark purple. it's "raisin", and that means a weird browny/purple thing, and not my fav. But it was $10 less, and it's not horrid, and I didn't love the other "bright" colors either, and "midnight black" was as much of a risk as "dark purple". I use this as a preface to my review because, if you care about the color that much and raisin isn't your favorite shade, try another color. But that said... OMG! I already love this thing! it's easy to fill, it is SOOOOOOOO much faster than stovetop kettle (I had Le Creuset Zen model), and the stainless is so easy. I did a couple of test runs, and it is 2.5 minutes faster than stovetop for 2 cups of water (stovetop set at high). I also made soft-boiled eggs with the extra water. I put my room temp eggs in a pan, poured the boiling water over, and let sit for 8 minutes, no additional heat, and I got soft-boiled just the way I like them. I know 2.5 minutes savings' per day isn't going to save the world, but in a month, that's 75 minutes energy savings, and in a year, that's 900 minutes energy savings. Plus, I don't have to heat extra water for a soft-boiled egg. I'd highly recommend this kettle. I just have found no negatives (other than the not awesome raisin color, but that was my own choice, and some people may actually like the color). Also, I keep reading about rusting... stainless steel is called stainless because it's the least corrosive of all the metals, and with cookware and utensils it's great because it just doesn't normally rust. The inside of this kettle is 18/10 (that's the ratio of chromium to nickel and it's better than 18/8. Water can leave stains if there's a high rust content in your area. Also, hard water leaves its own kind of gunk. White vinegar rinse will help, and I always leave the top up and I don't leave water standing in mine because I hate the idea of stale water. So hope that helps anyone concerned about rust.

Superb, straightforward, plastic-free way to boil water!
I spent nearly two months trying to find a kettle that didn't have _any_ plastic inside in contact with the water. I read many dozens of online reviews and forums, and nothing quite made the cut. I wanted a glass or ceramic interior, because they're inert and won't flavor or contaminate the water, but that proved impossible; I decided stainless steel was a good alternative. (I'd been using a Le Creuset for the past 10 years but can no longer remove the scale from the inside and needed a replacement.) This kettle works beautifully and it's completely nontoxic, as the water contacts nothing but stainless inside. Note that some people have worried about a small circular hole at the top beneath the lid -- this is there so that the lid can close. When you're boiling water, that hole is completely blocked by the thickness of the lid as it closes; the interior of the lid is the same stainless steel as the rest of the interior. There is thus NO plastic that can be contacted by water or steam in this kettle. (See photos. The first shows the hole just beneath the rim, and the second shows that the thickness of the metal in the lid will completely block that hole.) I've been using the kettle multiple times per day and it works simply and beautifully. It boils water quickly, and it shuts off by itself once it's reached the boil. For those of you considering a kettle with temperature settings: (1) testing of such kettles indicates that most of them are off the desired temperature by as much as 10 degrees, defeating the purpose of setting it at different temps for different teas; and (2) I have a ThermoPop thermometer (not available through amazon, alas) and another less fancy one, and both of them indicate that once you pour the water out of the kettle, the temperature drops really quickly. If I pour into an open cup, the temp falls to ~180-185 degrees as soon as I've stopped pouring; the temp remains a bit higher in a closed teapot (and will differ depending on whether the teapot is glass, ceramic, or metal). So I'm not sure that even an accurate temp gauge on a kettle would be that useful.

UPDATE
UPDATE- after complaining about the defected base of the cattle, we received replacement cattle. UNFORTUNATLY, the base of the replacement was also defected - it seems like the whole line of white cattle with black handle has the same defect. There is no way to return the replacement and no way to be reimbursed! We enjoyed our old Secura cattle for several years, BUT given the current problems with quality control it looks like we have to find another brand of cattle now. This is our second Secura kettle. We love the fact that the kettle is all stainless steel and that the water doesn't come into contact with any plastic when heating or pouring. The first one lasted for 7 years until the switch on the base failed. We used it regularly several times a day so that lifespan seemed reasonable. Fast forward to the other week, we ordered a new kettle. It arrived missing two of three rubber pads on the base, as seen in the photo. They weren't on the base nor in the box. This is annoying as it skitters around the marble countertop and puts a bit of extra pressure on the edge that pushes into the electrical cord. We debated sending it back but were unable to contact to the seller to see if they can simply send two pads. Amazon offered a replacement which arrived in the same condition. What's worse, the one pad that is in place doesn't fit the other slots, so we couldn't even shift it over. That replacement goes back tomorrow. It's a shame because for less than a penny per unit in cost, this would go from 3 star to 5. My husband will likely "hack" this and make it work.

Excellent product!
I use my secura several times a day to make coffee. They stand up to constant use for years and years at a time. I trust their kettles for safety and quality. Love the orange this time. So easy to clean, no rust ever, just fill and press the button.

Love the kettle and the customer service is amazing
I was looking for a kettle that had no plastic inside and when I found this one in dark purple (my favourite colour) I knew I didn’t need to look further. I ordered it and it came in a day. The inside is all metal as described and the plastic purple on the outside is both beautiful and keeps the outside of the kettle from getting too hot and accidentally burning yourself. I filled the kettle but when it reached a boil, it didn’t shut off and kept shaking for a minute. I wasn’t sure if it was defective or not and whether I should return it or exchange it so I contacted the company. They responded within 2 hours and informed me that my kettle was defective and offered multiple return options. Their customer service was top notch and had a resolution in less than a day. I did my exchange and now have my new kettle that works perfectly and makes very little noise. I’m so happy with it but I’m even happier knowing that if anything goes wrong the manufacturer will be helpful and timely in their responses.

Fantastic for use with well water
Love this kettle! Not just because it's my favourite colour but that it is so easy to clean calcium & limescale out of it. We are on a well & this well does have a fairly high level of minerals & calcium. Great for drinking but terrible for kettles! The wide opening is a big plus even my husband's hand can get in there & wipe out the interior. It's fast to boil & I love the fact that the interior is self contained so that if I choose to use a chemical descaler product there is no chance of the chemical leaking into an area & wrecking the kettle.... yes that has happened to me. This kettle is very loud compared to my previous 1500watt kettles but I contacted the company to see if mine was defective in some way. Had a response very quickly & apparently it is because of this particular design, my kettle tested in the normal range of decibels. It's not super loud just louder than we were used too. A very minor issue considering how great this kettle is in everything else. I only gave this kettle 4☆ because of a safety issue I have noticed. Now that we are aware of it we are careful. Beware of burning potential. When the kettle boils steam escapes up through the button on the handle & all up through the lid. I've been steam burned before, it is the nastiest type of burn you can get. It happens very fast & it continues burning through your skin layers longer than you might think. Please be careful when it boils! Once it is turned off the steam dissipates quickly.
