I don't know what these other guys are talking about but yes they are felt they are soft and felt there's different kinds of felt they're stiff there's thick and there's these which will cut from a sheet that you can get in hobby lobby on Michaels or any hobby store that is in your area

Are these air filters hypoallergenic?

The features description on Amazon states they are. Visually they are identical to my ResMed filters.

I am uncertain how many filters you are getting with this. Or are you just getting the holder for the filter?

I received several of both the primary and secondary filters. I do not wash the secondary filters

How often do I change the filters? Due to #s supplied, fine filter should be changed at half the interval of the coarse?

The large filter I change every 3 months the small think blue framed ones get changes monthly.
