Are the wheels rubber?

Yes but also requires an inner tube. Replacements inner tubes have to be ordered from Strider.

Does this bike have coaster breaks?

Yes, it does have coaster brakes.

is this big enough for a 6 year old?

Yes it is big enough for a 6 year old. My Grandson will be 5 at the end of July. He is over 4 feet tall already. The seat is adjustable., he used it as a balance bike for one week, and then requested to have the pedals put on. Within 10 minutes he was using the pedals and riding like a regular bike. Great invention.
