1 Star โ None of the seeds germinated
Very disappointed. I followed the instructions carefully and tried multiple times, but not a single bamboo seed germinated. Zero results. This feels like a complete waste of money and time. Either the seeds are old or they were never viable to begin with. I cannot recommend this product.

Good seed.
Follow instructions very closely. Watch many videos about growing bamboo from seeds and pay close attention to the ones where the poster actually shows the plants they have successfully produced from seed. I only got 10 plants from seed starter trays. I think my rate would have been higher if I started later in the year. That way they would have been kept warmer. They take a long time to come up so don't give up. I did not use a heated under mat. But these like to be warm 80F. If is is too hot and sunny when you go to plant them outside because it is so late in the year, consider sun screen mesh. Low germination rate is common in bamboo but once you get a few plants it grows like a weed and spreads fast.

Bamboo Seeds Review: Disappointing Non-Germination
I purchased these bamboo seeds with high hopes of growing my own bamboo plants, but unfortunately, the experience has been very disappointing. Despite following the provided instructions carefullyโusing proper soil, maintaining adequate moisture, and ensuring optimal light and temperature conditionsโnot a single seed has germinated after several weeks. The packaging arrived intact, with no visible damage, and the seeds appeared to be in good condition initially. However, after weeks of patient care, thereโs been no sign of sprouting or growth. This suggests that the seeds may be non-viable or of poor quality, which is frustrating given the time and effort invested. I reached out to the sellerโs customer service, and while they responded, their suggestion to "try again with different soil" wasnโt particularly helpful. Iโm still waiting for a more concrete resolution, such as a refund or replacement. Overall, Iโm very disappointed with this product due to the complete lack of germination. Iโd caution other buyers to be wary and ensure the seller has a good return policy. For now, I rate these bamboo seeds 1/5 stars, as theyโve failed to deliver on their basic purpose.

finally got some to grow
A few reviews were negative, so I was pessimistic. The envelope arrived in a respectable time. I grew a few separate batches of both giant bamboo and black bamboo (Same company), to see if they would grow. With the first batch, I followed the instructions on the packet. Unfortunately, I could not get any to grow. So, with the second batch, I used a few suggestions I found through some google searches. One suggested soaking the seeds in warm water for 2 days (I believe the instructions called for a 24 hour soak) I had to regularly pour warm water (about 80-90 degrees F) into the small cup I used for soaking, since the water would cool quickly. I would warm the water 2-3 times per day. After that, I put a few seeds into a slightly larger pot than I used for the previous batch, using the same type of soil. I watered them every day. After about 4 weeks I began to see some small sprouts, and a few days later could tell they were bamboo and not weeds. I read the germination rate was around 20-30% per batch of seeds, which is consistent with these seeds. I look forward to planting and experimenting.

Growing
I did exactly what the directions said and the seeds never germinate. Out of 100 seeds none ever sprouted..

They got me
First, it was not 100 seeds. Second, not a single one, not one, of these seeds germinated. I started them on 1/20/26 and its now 2/18/26. I still have them sitting, keeping them moist, and I just checked again a minute ago and none have germinated. A few of them have grown mold. Definitely will not order from this company again. If I could give less than one star I would. They deserve a 0 For how many of their seeds germinated

Seeds rooted within 1 week
Seeds rooted within 1 week It seems hard but it actually really simple Keep humidity 80% or more (use plastic bag) If planting in soil remove husk (husk will rot) keep moist and undisturbed until you see shoots If planting with paper towel and ziploc bag (recommended) keep husk on and AIR OUT DAILY, this is crucial. When first small roots emerge separate sprouts into a new bag and continue airing daily (add cinnamon to further prevent mold)

Thanks, but no thanks.
I received this order, but Amazon says they are issuing a refund requested by me. I did not request a refund nor expect one. How do you fix that? Seeds look okay. Not planted yet.
