A Great Camera
This is a great camera. I installed it under a second floor roof overhang where it gets a 270 degree view. It's at my weekend ranch house so I thought I would use it to look out for trespassers while I'm stuck in the city. It's great for the intended purpose. I have it set to send me an email and an image if it detects a vehicle. Turns out its great for watching wildlife as well. I set it up to do a patrol that does a wide view that pans slowly cross it's entire field of view so I can see what the weather is doing. It then pans down and goes in a little tighter and does another slow pan. Next it zooms in tight and pans to a a few key spots and lingers on each for a while. Running and watching the patrol has become part of my morning routine. The possibilities are unlimited, mostly. I keep it set at it's "Balanced" video setting. It's a little grainy but the video feed is smooth on my limited bandwidth. You can do a HI-RES playback if something happens that you want to seen in sharper detail. The largest SD card will hold almost a weeks worth of recordings. The uploaded image is a screen shot from a video clip of a couple of Axis Deer fighting over the water trough. A little dry this year. They are about 70 yards from the camera and this image is cropped pretty tight but is relatively clear. In addition to the 5x optical zoom it is possible to zoom in tighter when playing back recorded clips. My only complaint would be that it doesn't have more optical zoom and that when manually panning it moves pretty quick and sometimes overshoots the intended target. I have a couple of inexpensive cameras that cover the porches and areas I can't see with this one. I'm very happy with this one, I may get another one for the opposite corner of the house.

Awesome POE PTZ Camera
I added this PTZ POE camera to an existing Reolink system to the front of my house.I wanted person tracking and to be able to have a 360 viewing capability's It exceeded my expectations on performance, picture quality, Zoom, color night video, ease of installation! The phone application was easy to download and use it gives you total control and complete programming of the camera system. Only one down side is the camera only mounts one way only. I would recommend this camera be mounted on a corner of the structure do to its 360 capabilities. If your on the fence just buy it I am sure you will be impressed as I am And highly recommend this camera!

Power Draw
I have purchased a couple dozen of these cameras over the past several years and find them to be overall very satisfactory, especially because they bring pretty good value (what you get for what you pay for them). I use the cameras with home servers that I have built for various of my properties. I run Blue Iris 5 software on the servers. Blue Iris is an outstanding product in my opinion. With this setup I can see the cameras from anywhere in the world and also control them (use an iPhone). The only problem I have had with these cameras is that they have an unusual propensity to go into a restart and recalibration sequence spontaneously and not recover from it. I believe this is related to the amount of power they draw and the PoE switches that I use to drive them. They are stated to draw 28 Watts, (PoE+), but I am suspicious that they draw a bit more than that. I have "burned out" two PoE switches that have 8 outputs rated at 30W per output. The telltale sign is that one or more cameras will start beeping and spinning, stop and then repeat the process endlessly. This is the process that the cameras go through on initialization out of the box. I suspect that the PoE power drops below the threshold required to sustain operations and that drives the camera into the initialization mode. I have been able to fix this most times by replacing the PoE switch. Ultimately, I bought $400 switches that supply PoE++ on every line and the problem went away (one exception - one camera after doing this routine for several weeks never would recover). I have not had a recurrence since buying this super-duty switch. If you are using one or several cameras you should have a good experience I suspect.

Excellent camera
This camera is more than I expected. I like the ability to choose what to track, people, vehicles and pets. The tracking works well 90 percent of the time. Sometimes when it is tracking if it comes across a parked car it will stop on the car but other than that it works great. The return to home position timer being adjustable is a wonderful feature. THE SPOTLIGHT! The spotlight is bright enough to light up and identify a person in pitch black conditions at 75 feet. I like the ability to select which type of motion when searching through recorded content and the ability to set the sensitivity of each type of motion (any motion, person, pet or vehicle). The notifications work quickly and allows you to view the live feed within 2 to 3 seconds which allows you to activate the sound to communicate with the person or pet or to activate the siren which is loud enough, similar to a car alarm but only sounds for approximately 3 seconds to 5 seconds each press. I use the camera with my wifi controlled garage door to let deliveries drop off packages in my garage. The only gripes I have that the company could fix with a software update is when reviewing saved footage it defaults to 12am. I think it would be better to default to the last motion alert. The other gripe is to be able to toggle alerts on and off quickly like for when my neighbor is working on his car I would like to silence the alerts without going into my app settings or the camera settings to turn off the alerts completely. I installed a 128gb sd card and it holds 12 days of high amount of motion recording for me. I would highly recommend this camera

Glitchy Autofocus/ Poor Tracking---READ ON
I have tested several brands trying to put together a reasonably priced home security system and this camera is the biggest disappointment to date. The BAD: 1) In far too many scenarios while changing positions manually or with the patrol function the autofocus will not correct itself and will stay blurry.... blobs on screen blurry. This happens more often in night vision mode but will happen in daylight viewing as well. This is THE reason I returned the unit for a refund. 2) Autotracking in the camera is surprisingly poor for a Reolink. It's sensor distance is maybe 20-30 yards and that's pretty much it in my testing.... and even then the tracking is sketchy at best. The push notification AI is also surprisingly bad. I have tested much cheaper SV3c cameras which outperform this camera's Human push notifications by a long shot. I could have lived with the lame tracking of this camera if the autofocus wasn't so sketchy but not both performing poorly. The GOOD: 1) Daytime Video quality is very good. (Night Vision is just so-so) The 5x optical zoom works well enough but is VERY slow to zoom in and out. In comparison the SV3C 15x 2k 5mp camera, while having slower PT movement is a much better choice as the picture quality is really excellent for 2k and the night vision is FAR SUPERIOR to the RLC 823c. Not only does the SV3C 15x camera have much better autofocus..... it zooms while it tracks humans and does it very well! Ultimately the 5x zoom on the RLC-823a is just a "tinker with" feature as it's not fast enough, has poor autofocus and doesn't really zoom enough to get a good look at anything far enough away to be useful. 2) PTZ control is excellent! Reolink has the best PT speed, adjustability and smoothness of all the cheaper cameras I've tested. If only Reolink could get the tracking/autofocus ironed out with the RLC 823A... and that's what many of the negative reviews mention.... I'm not waiting around for some magical firmware fix... that's not gonna happen here... The design has been out for a while now. 3) Works with Blue Iris (if you have that setup) Don't waste your money RCL-823A... If you're hell bent on Reolink... which I kinda still am.... go with the Reolink Trackmix. I own 2 of those.. While it's not as "sexy" as this RLC 823A and the video quality is just a smidge less, it's tracking is HEAD AND SHOULDERS above the RLC823A, it doesn't suffer from the subpar autofocus and costs less! BTW don't buy any of these cameras without purchasing the Assurion extended warranty.... ! Good Luck!

Exceptional Video Quality
Optical Zoom? Yes! 4K? Yes! PTZ? Hecks Yes!!! This is my favorite camera. We have TrackMix cameras by Reolink which offer their own unique features and advantages. But pure picture quality, this is the second best camera Reolink offers. Only the 16x optical zoom cousin of this model has a better picture. We have this one out front to cover the street. But with preset points we can view the porch to keep a watchful eye on our Amazon deliveries or monitor our side yard. Performance has been nearly flawless. Powered by POE, there's no finding an empty outlet for power. Day and night, the video quality continues to impress and beats by far the pervious generation of cameras were using. Local access through the Reolink app is fast and responsive. Web access over cellular is a little laggy but still usable. I'll likely purchase this model again.

Fantastic full 360 degree fast camera!
The only negative I could say about this camera is its weight, one needs to find a pretty solid wall to get it install, a stucco won't work for sure. I was able to find a wooden construction and attached this heavy camera, so it won't fall down. The video is great, the night video is fantastic, the positioning speed exceeded my best expectations, it's full 360 degrees, so if you store a few positions it will return to each position extremely quickly. The noise, that this camera creates while moving, reminds me some robot motors from movie. :) It won't affect anything in my case since it's my personal backyard, but I guess can scary a bad person. The light is pretty bright.

Great Security Camera for Outside
Easy mounting & setup. Power Extention cords available for $4-5 extra if you don't have an outlet withing 5-ft, the primary wire harness is 10-11in long allowing passage through 8in thick concrete wall with drywall but it will require a 1in wide hole to be drilled. Live stream software allows you to activate the spot light or the alam feature remotely. The audible alarm is loud enough to be heard from over 100ft away. Lag time from activity to live viewing is 1-2 sec. PTZ feature works well but it has the same 1-2 sec lag. Refocus after zooming also has 1-2 sec delay. Memory card required for playback, uses a micro SD card, be carefull when installing as the cover screws are VERY small.

Good picture quality let down by poor auto tracking and let down even more by reolink support
Picture quality is good auto tracking appears decent but it can’t track down wards when your coming towards it! There is also 20 second delays on the High quality video stream with onvif to nvr. Sub stream has no delay but high quality stream no matter what res or frame rate can’t fix it. Have adjusted frame rates in all streams to match but still no improvement latest firmware still no improvement . Was sold an open box reolink made it right however the missing waterproof rubber seal that goes over memory card slot requires you to send the entire camera back despite being installed by security installer already and it would have resulted in me paying 2 call outs and wasted Money. Despite advising them of this they can’t just send you the missing rubber seal that was missing from the open box even though it should have been a new one. Reolink did partial refund for open box and scratched and chips to the unit but missing items were not accept in the partial refund! Just seems Insane that they can’t send the rubber seal. This is why the installer covered it over with silicon while I wait for the replacement now I have to waste more money getting it taken down and then put back up when the replacement arrives. Such a pitty should have bought hikvision costs more but at least suppliers don’t make you swap cameras for a missing memory card rubber seal! Just upsetting really upset and have had it with reolink DO NOT BUY LOW QUALITY PRODUCT BAD QUALITY CONTROL AND INSANE CUSTOMER SERVICE PRACTICES JUST DONT WASTE YOUR TO TIME EFFORT OR LIFE WITH REOLINK
