Sunagor 10-20x25 Image Stabilising Zoom Monocular

I was leery of this monocular because of the poor reviews, but after using it and seeing the quality construction and image stabilization I am convinced it was an excellent purchase. I am going to use it for an upcoming Alaska trip where the image stabilization and zoom up to 20X will come in handy. I don't know how long the CR2 batteries will last so I plan to buy rechargeable ones to have ready. The focus, zoom function and eye relief all work fine and it comes with a padded carrying case. This is a high quality optical instrument. I didn't receive any compensation for this review and it is based on my personal experience to help other purchasers.

Being a one eyed person, like others here, I had hoped this would be the stabilized monocular I’ve been after for a while. But alas, no. Stabilization is poor and it’s hard to find the image circle especially with glasses. So I sent it back. I have also tried the Bresser monocular and was not satisfied with it either, although it was somewhat better. I returned that one as well. But I do have good news for you. there is an incredibly there stabilized monocular out there. It’s made by Opticron. The stabilization is quite good. Not as good as my It’s made by Opticron. The stabilization is quite good. Not as good as my canon stabilized binocular’s, but still good. It takes different eyepieces stabilized binocular’s, but still good. It takes ieyepieces interchangeable, Which is really cool. I picked their top of the line 8 - 21X eyepiece and I really love it.

Since I only have one good eye, I don’t really need a binocular. But I wanted something with image stabilization. This monocular would seem to be just what I wanted. It boasts of zoom, a switch that you don’t have to hold down (can’t understand why cannon doesn’t address that problem) and lightweight. However, I found that the image stabilization was barely working – certainly not as good as I had hoped. Also, at 10x the field of view was quite narrow, about the same as one gets with a non-prism Galilean telescope. At 20x the field increases to a reasonable amount. But the exit pupil was so small, and the eye relief adjustment insufficient, so that you had to look exactly through the center of the eyepiece or the image would be too far to one side and not the full angle, if that makes sense. Had this been simply a zoom monocular, w/o IS, I would say it was worth about $30-50. Pro: Lightweight Image stabilization switch that you don’t have to hold down Zoom Con: Image stabilization poor considering the high price of this monocular. Eye relief adjustment insufficient to use without glasses. 10x setting has very small field of view – 20x a bit better, but zoom also changes viewing angle. Uses cr2 batteries instead of more common ones. No telescope mounting screw (needed since IS not that good) 25mm objective lens – too small to get a good bright image

This product (Sunagor 10-20x25 monocular is so poor that it is unusable. The reasons are; 1) It is almost impossible to hold the field in your vision because it is difficult to hold the eyepiece steady against your eye. 2) you will find the batteries dead if you fail to turn off. they do not time out. 3) The batteries are of what i consider mongrel. they are "CR2 batteries which are ecpensive and are not available in most remote vacation destinations. 4) the stabilization feature at 20X does not work better than none at all.

Excellent product. Sharp image throughout zoom range. Image stabilization really works.

Easy to carry and the ducks can now be identified. Pretty nice.

I already knew about Sunagor because I have their Megazoom binoculars which are amazingly powerful. So now I recently got this new zoom monocular which is indeed a very clever product. Image stabilization means no shake at all when looking though this monocular even at 20x!

At last a monocular with an usable 20x zoom.

Superb optics though very expensive.
