Xerox B230 Wireless Black and White Laser Printer

Retired senior, business closed, long-time Mac user here. I just needed a laser printer with a small footprint, no ink subscription, for general necessities. This is perfect for my needs. It was easy to connect to my wi-fi and set-up with the phone app. I downloaded the driver for my computer (the app sent me a convenient link in an email), shared it with anyone on my home network and we all can print from our own phones or computers. Ignore the complaints about the passwords. The app walks you through everything. Couldn't be easier. And the copies are crisp and black. Nice speed, easily prints 2 sides. Recommend.

Print quality very good. WIRELESS printing does not work at all. Called into help desk and they told me I need a cable. This is FALSE ADVERTISING TO SAY CONNECTING FOR WIRELESS IS EASY. Never did get the issue resolved so will be returning product as it is not wireless, as advertised. Spent 6 hours on a terrible tiny, misinformed menu system. The app downloaded to the phone says printer is ready for use, but the computer cannot print wireless, only with a cable. VERY DISSAPPOINTED WITH THIS PRODUCT.

Liking this printer so far. So easy to use although the setup almost gave me an aneurysm! We finally got.it working with some help and its so much easier than dealing with hp printers and their numerous issues. Never again. I'm staying with this bad boy!

Received this Xerox printer yesterday. It is replacing a Samsung monochrome laser printer that died of old age. It will be a back-up printer, in case our Canon all-in-one goes down. Very well packaged, box contained everything needed to get it installed and printing asap. I used the ethernet port, connected directly to our router. Used the ADD PRINTER function in Windows on 3 computers, desktop and 2 laptops. All work great, took less than 10 minutes per install. I had forgotten how excellent Zerox is at what they do. Very Well Done Xerox!

Laser printer works great but the setup was brutal. I had to use AI to help me step-by-step, it took me 2 days because of the level of frustration involved. I have a Windows 10 and a Windows 11 hooked up to the printer. Windows 11 went very easy and it took less than 10 minutes. The windows 10 computer took so much longer and involved dozens of individual steps to complete.

i didn’t have/need a PC to hook this up! myself and everyone in the house were easily able to connect to print!

I bought this for my home to use on a few text based projects. It has always printed well and I have been happy. Then I tried to print from a Google Map online and it started just printing junk at the top of the page. I tried to cancel print job but it said there wasn't one. Ran through all the paper in the paper tray two times. Finally the chaos stopped. Everything I could think of I tried. Then it did well. Recently started with the garbage again. There is no clue what to do from the owner's standpoint. No help from Xerox website. I have read these kind of reviews from people who have bought low end printers of other brands. I truly believe these companies make poor quality products so people will buy the cheap model and then spend another $200-300 on a better model. Making the physical printer is probably a straight forward process, and having bad software is probably even easier.

DO NOT BUY XEROX PRODUCTS! XEROX actively pushes Firmware Updates to prevent owners from being able to use Toners and parts non-Xerox. I bought 2 Swiftink High Capacity Toner Cartridges that use far superior Inks than Xerox does but Xerox aggressively blocks any attempt to use my Toners. The " Starter Toner " that comes with this B230 only does about 100 Pages 1 Sided. Probably less. Most of everything I was able to print out was so light I could hardly make out what was printed. Print quality is sub par. Thank goodness I am not printing Documents for customers. This is for my personal use and the print quality is very light. But with that I can get triple the pages printed with a Toner than I would if it printed Dark enough for a Professional Print Job. Trying to use this Wireless was a horrific experience. I fixed that buy buying a Powered Ethernet Hub and running a direct Ethernet Cable to the Xerox B230 Printer. It prints a lot of pages pretty fast. Overall for what it cost me I am happy enough with it. It serves my personal purpose. I have no fear of Printing a lot of pages for the cost per page to print is almost nothing to do so with this B230 Monochrome Printer. I found a source of aftermarket Toners that do 10,000+ pages for $45 Dollars US and the Black is darker though still a grey rather than black. My main costs are the cost of the paper itself which has nothing at all to do with this Printer. I would gladly give this a 5 Stars Rating if it worked for Everyone; but the majority I assume desire a much blacker Monochrome experience so therefore she earns a 4 Star only Rating from me. I am happy with this otherwise. I was only able to get 13 Pages Printed with my Swiftink Toners using the Chip from the Starter Toner before it BLOCKED any attempt to print anything again. This is a very hostile product. Designed to force the Customer to purchase overpriced inferior Toners and Parts. BROTHER is far more Friendly to the buyer.

Works for LINUX!! Excellent printer! No subscriptions!! Buyer has total control over printing through web interface. Search through the small display on the printer to get the ip address, add that ip in your browser and you will have more control that you ever dreamed possible. Once in the web interface you can set a static ip to whatever you want. Do not even try to set any settings through the small printer display, just skip through all that and go directly to the web interface and see all the control Xerox provides its customers. Mine is now connected to my network and all connections can print to this printer. Install took 15 minutes with no hickups! You can also handle all security, passwords and well, LOTS more! NO drivers to download and install. I am using CUPS on LINUX and I just opened "printers" from the MINT XFCE menu and printer was recognised and I could adjust print settings there also. I opted for ethernet connection and after connecting to the printer I disabled wifi through the web interface! Believe me, when you get to the web interface you will have so much settings available to you it will be amazing! Simple printer with big impact! Way to go XEROX for putting customer needs first when it comes to simple install and printing! Why can't greedy printer manufactuerers learn from this and put customers first like XEROX does? In the future I will opt for a full color with scanner, but this XEROX B230 is excellent and I am totally happy with my purchase!

Tiene un problema, después de un tiempo se desconecta y desconfigura del wifi. Al imprimir jala más de una hoja! como casí todas las impresoras, pero eso es molesto! el toner es bastante caro, pague al rededor de 2,500 pesos mexicanos. como unos 50 USD

Good printer for the price but toners are expensive

Solid budget printer. Was a snap to get working in minutes over Ethernet (yep, has an ethernet port) - and bonus, no app required to get it all up. Can't speak for WiFi or the phone app or tech support, but works fine with Linux. I think it's going to be a nice companion printer to my ink jet for document printer. But I do wish it had a proper power switch instead of just going to deep sleep...
