Q: Would the total weight capacity be 180kg since there are 2 lift mechanisms?

It appears that each strut is listed as 70kg so I believe that would be the case.

Q: How flat do they close? I want to lift and support a roof for a roof top tent

They fold down pretty flat. Just be careful on the shock itself. The ones we got with the support bracket were way to strong and we couldn't close it and when we were able to pull it down it would not stay down. Could have been very dangerous.

Q: What is the total lift?

Homend is not being forthcoming. When they say the lifts handles 88 lb, it really means that both lifts "together" only lift 88 lb. They don't tell you that. I installed these for my short queen bed in my RV and it would not hold the bed up. As a matter of fact, my wife was reaching under the bed to grab something and it came down on her. These lifts are actually dangerous. In my opinion, if the lift says 88lbs, thats the total for both and not each. I asked home and if they would exchange them out for the 5 foot lifts and did not get an answer. Also, why in the world are there no instructions.? It just doesn't make sense.
