Could I repair the sole of my shoes with this if they have holes in them or would it rub off after walking on them?

It would eventually rub off but, not for quite awhile. I use on tennis shoes and play tennis 5 hours a week and it barely wears down. Regular shoes regular walking could take weeks.

I purchased one tube of glossy black and have used it to repair heels on 2 boots and I did glue down the sole on 2 pairs of flats as well

The black shoo goo worked perfectly for me. I have no idea what it’s made of. I used it on my water aerobic shoes, held up nicely under water.

Not sure adhesives have an expiration date since it's not consumable. Typically, if one reads the directions on the package, instructions are provided for the care of the product. More directly, I've got a tube I've been using for years.

Amazing product

Whoever invented Shoe GOO deserves the highest commendation any nation could ever bestow. I used this on a pair of older work shoes that had soles separating from the uppers.
