Very nice looking and functional rack for a great price that I would recommend without hesitation!
Surprisingly good deal on a very nice looking and quite practical stand for storing one or two bikes in a small space without damage to the walls or floor. Based on other reviews of this product, I was a little skeptical, but quit attracted to the design, so decided it was worth a try, and must say I’m quite impressed with the aesthetics and value of this rack. I works perfectly for me to accommodate two bikes in a snug, high visibility space, right behind the entry door to my apartment, where the owners don’t want as much as a drywall anchor hole marking up their walls. This was a solution to a bit of a tricky challenge, and one I’m very pleased with. I heeded the advice of previous commenters, and was careful to crank the floor tensioners down quite hard (see note below regarding this process), and did utilize the two ceiling screws, which are not designed to be load bearing at all, but are sufficient for keeping the ceiling plate from unwittingly drifting under use and weather changes. I recommend grabbing a wrench to occasionally check the force on the tension screws in the floor plate to accommodate slight structural shift as seasonal weather changes if you are in an area with significant temperature swing (this could be the cause of some of the failures I’ve read about). This rack does not grip the frames, but rather cradles it in two points, requiring some balance of the bike on the two points. Because top-tubes on various bikes come in at different angles, some creativity with the hangers is required, but not too much! A mountain bike I have hanging, for example, angles upward as it approaches the handlebars at such an angle that the bike would be tempted to slide backwards out of balance. Simply hooking the rear hanger behind the seat post at the top point in the rear triangle (see picture) solved this problem easily. My other bike has a downward sloping tube and required a higher rear hanger. The flex a bit which helps to self balance, and this process is somewhat intuitive because a more level bike will be more aesthetically pleasing anyway. Also, setting the tension on the floor bolts is a bit of a repetitive process, since tightening one bolt will relieve some pressure on the other, which then must be tightened, and so on. You think you’re done then, but check again! Take your time with this, not trying to crank it to it’s limit on first try. You’ll be able to gradually and more evenly snug it down this way, and get the stand relying more evenly on the full structure, as it was designed. Once secured it’s impressively stable and strong.

There's a better ceiling method. Instructions still suck.
The biggest problem with this rack is the top piece that goes against the ceiling uses foam pads instead of a couple layers of non-slip area rug gripping material. Do that with the bottom too if you have hardwood floors as I do. This rack has been set up to intentionally fall, but it didn't with 60# of bikes. Whereas when it was set up with pads and everything was square and level balanced, the foam allowed the top block to slip under weight, just as many others have experienced and written about in their reviews. The second biggest problem is the double extenders that you have to work against one another. Tighten one, the other gets loose. Anybody with minimal engineering sense knows this is a disaster in waiting just as the foam pads are in allowing the top block to roll off a ceiling. There is a structural solution that doesn't require one to monitor the stand once it is set up as this company asks you to do, but for whatever reason the manufacturer has not consulted a professional. The third problem is the inconsistency of stain. I received pieces that are clearly from two different lots. Once again this was easily fixed, but still. The fourth problem is that this company doesn't care about feedback. Those instructions are awful. Looking at how old the reviews that mention poor instructions, there is no way they have been improved. A technical writer with graphic design experience could fix the instructions and diagrams easily. So, what is good about this rack? It is inexpensive, and with a little bit more effort on the purchaser's part, it can both look great and stand the test of time. No top ceiling screw required. Just wish I could buy two more sets of arms to hold four bikes, two sets of two. Because this rack could do that using rug grippers.

Dope I love it
This is a dope bike rack. Setting it up was a little challenging because the instructions were not as clear as the should have been, but that's life. It's really easy to assemble everything, but securing it in place takes some time. It's best to make sure it's secure and not loose. That's probably the hardest part is securing it. Also set the pole up and once it's up add the bike racks on it that way you can actually get it to fit. Honestly it looks aesthetically pleasing and its almost the centerpiece of the living room except it's not in the center but it's still pretty awesome tbh. Like you could buy a metal one or install racks but like this just has a pleasing vibe the wood just looks good. I've had this up for 2 months now and I've experienced no issues with it. 10/10 would buy again

Believe the negative reviews
Even after reading dozens of reviews I decided to go against my better judgement and try this bike rack based on the images on the listing. It arrived in a torn open box and the delivery driver waiting for me to review the contents before leaving. She didn’t feel comfortable leaving it and asked to take it back. I should have listened to her. I should have refused it but decided to keep it. I unboxed everything and initially noticed the longest wood parts were warped, the holes had several chips showing that the manufacturing process is to cut to length, stain and then drill holes and no where in between did it include sanding the wood prior. What made me box it up and give up on it was that one of the two parts that are on the bottom with the silver bolts that act as height adjustment feet was drilled incorrectly in that it was upside down and I finally had enough as I was attempted to assemble the unit by looking at the listing images as the one thing that was missing was the instruction manual. Do yourself a favor and hold out for something else. This unit is Chinese manufacturing and no quality control or assurance at its worst. Sad as it could have been a nice looking design if properly executed.

Sturdy, attractive, and functional.
I've had this rack for about a year or so, and it has never wavered in stability. Recently I bought a Radwagon 4 eBike, and while the bike is super heavy at about 75lbs, this rack has no problem holding it, along with another (much smaller) bike. The wood looks nice even after a year, and really suits my room well. I found it pretty easy to build if you are even halfway decent with a screwdriver, and after a year I've never had it move, bend, or crack. One thing I'd note is that I have relatively low 8' ceilings in my split-level house, and because of that, I have the actual racks set at the highest and lowest possible spots, but it can be tough to fit two large bikes in that limited vertical space. My solution to this has been to keep my son's bike on the top level, since it's lighter and easier to lift up there anyway. All in all, very pleased with this product, and would recommend it to someone, even if they have a beast of a cargo bike like the Radwagon.

Very good, once I got all the proper parts
It wasn't all that hard to figure out how to assemble this, but you CANNOT really rely on the instructions that came with it. They are not thorough enough, and leave out a couple important descriptions and one very important step. Note that the instructions have been updated. There is a link to them here in one of the other comments, IIRC. Those were somewhat better, but still not great. That said, anyone with a bit of mechanical aptitude who's bought something at Ikea should be able to figure this out :) So I did get it mostly assembled. The bigger problem for me was that one of cap nuts came with f#^@d up threads and could not be used. And you need EVERY SINGLE ONE of them if the thing is going to be completely stable. After contacting Amazon and asking for a replacement cap nut they told me--to my amazement--that they couldn't provide one, but they'd be happy to send me a whole new bike rack!! Is that good?? Man...that's an absolutely horrible waste of resources if you ask me. Geez....all I needed was the one $#%@ing nut!! But true to their word, they sent me a whole new rack. I received it THE NEXT DAY. Took out the one nut that I needed, marked the bad nut and put it back in the box and shipped it back to them. Sheesh!!! *** One bit of advice; screw the feet (that set on the bottom piece of wood) all the way into two long legs before measuring. You'll need all the thread that's there to be able to wrench those feet down so that the rack fits really tightly between the ceiling and floor. *** Screwed the one remaining nut/bolt together and finished the job, happily. The rack -- screwed into a ceiling joist -- seems quite sturdy. It'll take a helluva shaker to knock it down. It's been doing a very good job for us for the last couple weeks!

Awesome for e-scooters
I love this rack for my e-scooters. It is study and very stylish. The included racks work terrifically for hanging scooters upright because the weight is perfectly balanced down the middle. For a Ninebot ES2/4, you can even rest one of the wheels directly on the ground and have it barely kept upright by one of the height settings -- great for my girlfriend who hates lifting the thing. Assembly could have been a little easier and the directions were not perfectly clear. I luckily had some power tools to drive the screw into the top plate. !! I did accidentally strip one of the holes when trying to drive the big rack screws, so be very careful during that step if using power tools. !! (Luckily it comes with some extra "spacer" things that you can swap out if you wreck one. Overall I love the product, and think its great value for someone who can measure and drill things properly.

Modest Patience Required
I usually shy away from products with polarizing reviews like this but most of them focused on the difficulty of assembly, so my wife and I figured we’d give it a shot since we’ve dealt with worse DIY projects. Happy to report that we got it assembled in about a half hour or less and it’s been holding two full size bikes in our tiny apartment for over a month now. No complaints at all! It is way more sturdy than expected and is really making the most of our space. Assembly instructions aren’t great but referencing product photos will do more for your understanding of what the final product should look like. Once you see the basic layout, extrapolate the remainder of the assembly using some patience and common sense. It REALLY isn’t that complicated. It is also a bit open ended because you need to adjust the height and hook spacing for your situation, so that will require a little independence. Happy with the solution for the money. We like that we can bring this with us to future living arrangements.

Looks good in a small space
Great product, easy to install and looks very nice in a small space.

Looks good, but..
.. the whole construction is not very sturdy and the selected wood is too flexible. With two bikes hung up, the slightest touch brings everything into movement. Up to now everything is holding in its place. Maybe if you have kids or pets, you should consider to buy something more secure. Besides this, two of the metal arms look like they had been used. The bottom plate holes to hold the adjustments bolts in place are made very poorly. The base plate of bolts can slide in all direction when trying to set up the whole thing straight.. why not just using the right size for the holes? This could be improved without even increasing any production costs. Anyways I’m giving 4/5 because of it’s price. It’s very affordable, easy so install and looks good.
