Design of Analog CMOS Integrated Circuits

Good Reference
the book is pretty detailed and indeed its like a design standard to have this book as reference. I wouldnt recommend it for people with no experience with Analog CMOS design. Razavi's explanation sometimes assume you have idea where some expressions come from, the examples are mostly well explained and nothing than just a mere review of the basics can help you decode the book. I consider this book as one of those books that the longer you get experience on circuit design, the longer you value Razavi's insight.

The most intuitive book in analog design.
This is the most intuitive book on cmos and analog design. The author is able to clearly explain the operation of a diode in a few sentences. For quick and intuitive understanding of simple to complex analog circuits, this is the book. However, I find this book lacking in some of the in-depth analysis (which might actually be why this book is so clear -- the author only shows the necessary details and results for clarity) for some circuits -- I often myself going over to other texts such as GHLM, which together with this text pretty much covers all of analog design. This is a must-have for any serious analog designer.

Amazon sold me the international edition
One of the best out there for Analog CMOS. I enjoy all the author's books including this one. Downside is lack of solutions for end-of-chapter problems. Also, beware! Amazon sent me the international edition. They thought I wouldn't notice. I have decided not to deal with them again.

A must have for any analog designer
Simply, "the" CMOS analog design book. Any analog designer must read it throughly. It progresses through the subject in a natural and logical way.The depth of the covered subjects is great and serves well as a good start for students/designers approaching the subject for the first time.A good background about MOS devices is essential before reading the book.

Superb.
The only thing that keeps it from five stars is that is a bit short on analytical detail -- but cant have it all in one place.

Does not indicate Edition
Ok, DECEIVED by Amazon. This is an INTERNATIONAL EDITIONThis is ridiculous ! Nowhere on the product page the cover picture nor in the descriptions says that this book is an International Edition. Now I just received the book(directly bought from Amazon) realizing it is an International Edition. I feel very deceived and upset.Ok yes, the ISBN number, page number and publication date are different in the domestic edition and the international EditionBut the shouldn't Amazon at least include or indicate that this book is the International Edition ?!?-The picture of the cover shows the cover of the domestic edition. While sending us a product that has "International Edition" on the cover.-NOWHERE at all in the product information page specifically indicates that this is the international edition.Although the contents are said to be exactly the same. But the International Edition:-Has THINNER PAGES-Worse Printing Quality-Bad page material(just feels like regular A4 printing paper but thinner)If I wanted to buy a cheap international edition, I do not need to buy this one sold by Amazon. There are a lot of cheaper international editions in ebay. OR i can buy it outside US with one-fifth the price!!!!!They will at least tell you what they sell is international edition, not like Amazon, who says nothing.AMAZON, you totally brought me down.

good analog reference book
One of the essentials for analog ic design. Wel written, lots of examples. Covers alot (though not all) topics. Sometimes the author goes into detail on some topics and neglects others. You will need additional books to get a full reference for analog circuit design! Gray & Meyer is a nice addition for circuit design and Hastings for layout.

Classic on CMOS design
Classic textbook on CMOS design. An academic and industry standard for beginners. Clear and with enough detail. A must for anyone seeking a first course on CMOS.

Excellent academic book, and a very good working reference
Before I bought this book I made appreciable but really painstaking progess during a period of study and practice in the IC design profession using the 'bible' of Analogue IC, Analysis and Design of Analog Integrated Circuits by Grey and Meyer, and another worthy testament to the art of IC design - CMOS Analogue circuit design, by Phil Allen. Then I happened upon this book through the grapevine, Design of Analog CMOS integrated circuits, I am stunned at how legible, simplistic and yet with eloquence Behzad Razavi explains electrical circuit phenomena and concepts. There is a minimum of rigorous mathematical application, just enough to help the student grasp the essentials and refer to further papers/IEEE publications if required. This could be a downside to some looking for mathematic rigour from first principles. However, there are a large number of set problems accompanied by a mind boggling array of circuit topologies in the last few pages of each chapter that are certainly worth sharpening your pencil for. There is a very conscious effort by the author to encourage the development of intuitive sense and a persistent nature of enquiry within the reader to get to the bottom and fully understand the behaviour of a vast collection of popular and not so well known circuit topologies implemented in CMOS technology even to ultra DSM regimes. I would thoroughly recommend this book for both graduates and experienced analog IC design professionals.
