Waterproof, Bright, Portable, 3 Colors, Winner
I have tried several Lithonia LED lights and they have another winner with this outdoor rated light. It is easy to to open up the housing to wire and setup color temp plus brightness. By opening the hinges the top cover comes off. You will remove the top panel which has all the LEDs mounted to it. With the top cover removed you may see the inner workings of this light fixture. You will wire up Green, White, Black wires plus setup the switches to choose between the 3 color temps and 3 brightness settings. It comes with two brackets to hang it up outdoors. It is really bright and a plus is to be able to adjust the color temp to your liking. Make sure to get Liquidtight fitting and conduit in order to maintain a water proof light. I am currently using it as a portable light which I can move around the garage to add more lighting depending on which area I am working in. The light is completely enclosed and feels well made. Itโs the reason I have confidence in moving it around. Thank you for taking the time to read my review of this product. Very nice led strip light, but the hangers need an update
This led fixture is clearly a descendent of the 4 foot fluorescent light we are all familiar with. Same channel construction, made of light gauge steel pre-painted white. The cover for the channel snaps on same as always, except now this cover has a string of leds from end to end. This fixture is tolerant of damp/wet locations so it is fully enclosed in a polycarbonate case and cover. The cover is secured with five over-center clamps on each side. The two end clamps on one side can be retained in the cover, allowing the cover to hang from these two clamps when opened. Obviously no relamping needed here, but you might want to reach the side of the metal channel where there are two 3 position switches. One switch selects from three color temperatures, and the other selects from three brightness levels. The internal construction appear high quality. The channel cover, with the leds on it, is easily disconnected by releasing a pair of sockets. There are more wires here than youโd find in a fluorescent, more than you might expect actually. The led controller looks similar to a ballast, but thereโs also a separate small module with the brightness/color switches. Then thereโs a pair of super long wires that can be used for optional external dimming, using a standard 10v strategy. The wiring and especially the connectors are very high quality. For the incoming 120v power the mating connector is supplied. The connector has provisions for two each black and neutral wires, just strip and stuff the end into the connector and it locks, which allows for easy daisy chaining of these fixtures. The ground wire is a pigtail, so youโll have a use for one of the three wire nuts that is included with the fixture. The wire access hole is a standard 1/2โ pipe thread, oddly I found it too tight for directly attaching a romex clamp but it was fine for the more tapered thread of a cord clamp. With the led channel cover removed and the channel on its back on your workbench, the wire placement looks like a ratโs nest. The channel is narrow, much like youโd expect on a single tube fluorescent, and the wires are loose and floppy with no sign that anyone dressed the cabling. It appears getting the cover on without pinching wires shouldnโt be too hard, but once you install the fixture all of this mess is drooping down and it is much harder. Iโd suggest taking the time to properly organize the cables before installing the fixture. The plastic fixture housing is held to a horizontal surface by a pair of stainless steel brackets. They are quite thin and easily bent, and I think they are insufficient for the job. The brackets mount with a pair of #8 screws on each, brackets spaced about 32โ apart. Spacing isnโt fussy as the plastic fixture tub has about 3โ formed landing area for them. The fixture simply snaps into the bracket, unfortunately it falls out just about as easily. Even after bending each bracket to improve the grip on the fixture, when closing the over-center cover latches the horizontal force was enough to disengage the fixture. Mounted to a ceiling seems ok since thereโs no lateral force but I donโt think you could mount this fixture to a wall, not with these mounting brackets. The lamp functions without a flaw. The color and brightness selectors are a neat feature, and at a glance the fixture appears as the equivalent of a 48โ two tube fluorescent. While the sloppy internal wiring is just a workmanship issue, the mounting brackets are not sufficient for the fixture in my opinion. Currently they are thin and springy and easily bent, perhaps making them from thicker material would be sufficient. If you want to wall mount this fixture I think youโd need an entirely different mounting strategy. In summary this is a nice quality light, if you use liquidtight connectors youโll be all set for wet locations. Component quality looks excellent, a bit sloppy on the wiring assembly. It loses one star for the poorly executed mounting strategy.

Two out three
Bought three for licensed electrician to install. Heโs done a lot of work on a remodel and very up to date on lighting. All three were getting power but only one lighted. Moved LED strip from working to non working and two would not light. Bad drivers on two out of three? Wasted his time and my money. Ordered same lights as replacements from HD, hoping they have non defective stock.

Plastic clips
PLASTIC clips??.... On an outdoor-rated item? At least it's durably made. But it's going to fall apart in a couple years.

Works as expected, decent design. Wire fitting only worked on plastic bushing
Adjustable brightness, and color temperature. Nice sturdy sealed enclosure, with clip mounts so no holes for moisture to enter. The lens can be opened and hung on two of the mounting hooks. The only complaint I think is the bushing uses what looks like standard threads, but metal fitting would not screw in. Got a plastic fitting then it worked. Has an option for a 0-10V dimmer too, but did not use it. Wire hookup includes 3 wire nuts, a quick disconnect, and a pair of wago-like stab-on connectors. Not sure why the hot and neutral have a quick connect and wagos allow extra connections in and out or more options but if that is the case why were they not bagged with the wingnuts? Some of the other wiring for the switch module etc is a bit messy though nothing I have not seen before. Not usually an issue just need to make sure it is tucked away when you close the figure up. Though ziptie or something to clean this up would be nice.

Nice looking industrial style fixture w/ adjustable color temp.
Great overall, looks nice and its easy to install. Color temperature can be adjusted between 3500k and 5000k, so you can get a nice soft light from this fixture as well as cold daylight white, if you're one of those people who are into the morgue look. Quality is good - plastic - but the installation brackets could definitely be better. They're a little flimsy and have a tendency to bend a little. So make sure to handle them gingerly during the installation and you'll be fine. The brackets are for mounting this fixture to the wall or a ceiling. There is no pull chain or switch - its just a standard plug. So you'll need to have it connected to a switch of some sort in order to turn it on and off without having to unplug it every time. Overall, its perfect for the new art studio we put in above the workshop. Its not the most powerful light, but for our needs its just right.

Very nice fixed-lighting option, but read the description carefully
I picked this up to hang over my workbench in the garage, replacing a flourescent glass-tube-based one... with the intention of getting better lighting for less energy, and providing some additional flexibility in terms of the light output, as well. Well, this is a very nice fixture, but it's not exactly what I thought it was up-front. (That's MY fault... read the fine print carefully!) First off, the light output is excellent, both in quality and intensity. The fixture itself is very nicely made, and there's a lot of flexibility in terms of how it can be installed. And yes, it's true that there is a switch by which you can change the color "temperature" (how much yellow versus how much blue in the color output, essentially) and the "maximum output level" between three settings each. Plus, it is, as claimed, entirely capable of working with an external dimmer. What I failed to understand, up-front, is that the only way to adjust the color temperature or the maximum output level is to operate a switch INSIDE OF THE UNIT. In other words, you need to take it down, disconnect it, partially disassemble it, move the switch(es), reasssembe it, and re-mount it, in order to do so. My misunderstanding was that this would be possible do to "on the fly" without having to jump through all those hoops... either by control-by-wiring, or by an external switch. Nope. So, basically, you have to choose your setting before you install, and then install, and it's effectively a "permanent" choice (unless you want to jump through all these hoops to change it... essentially uninstalling and reinstalling the whole thing). This takes away one of what I'd thought was a "selling point" for this device, and frankly, is my main reason for knocking off a star. If this were able to be controlled, WHILE INSTALLED, to shift between these nine different operating modes... a grid of 3x color temps and 3x max intensities... that would DRASTICALLY increase the "value" of this lighting fixture. Which is not to say that it's a bad fixture. It certainly isn't. It's very nice, in fact. But there's room for improvement. Another issue which I should have expected and wasn't entirely prepared for is the fact that it does not come with any external wiring. It has a port you can screw your own water-tight fitting into... or you can punch out a number of different knock-outs, if you prefer... but you have to provide the fitting and the external wiring, and have to connect it internally. Yes, this is a "contractor" type device, not really a "casual home user" type device. And while I'm perfectly capable of doing this, many potential users here on Amazon might not be, and might need to hire an electrician to do the work for them. In fact, if you aren't 100% certain you are familiar with the US Electrical Code, and competent to do wiring work, I would STRONGLY recommend getting someone to do it all for you. Doing it wrong could, potentially, result in burning your house down, after all! But... the light fixture itself is a really nice fixture, from one of the better vendors of this sort of device around. It's just a lot more "do-it-yourself" than some folks might be expecting, and a bit less flexible (in terms of in-use adjustment) than the product info makes it seem. Note, as a reminder... it IS entirely suitable for use with an external dimmer, but again, you'll need to select your dimmer carefully (the provided literature makes it clear just what that dimmer needs to be in order to work, so "read the F-in' manual!") and THAT, at least, is entirely externally controllable. So... pick your color temp carefully... choose the max output level based upon what you might need in the exact location you're installing it... and do all that BEFORE installing it permanently. And then, you'll likely be happy with the result. One last note - there is no clear indication of any "hanging" installation method, though I suspect that there are chain-hanging combinations which can, with some minor effort, be made to work with this. That's my intent, but so far I have not yet found one I'm satisfied with. No, this is really designed to be affixed directly to drywall-and-lumber walls or ceilings. Any other installation method is... "iffy."

Never even used. Broken upon arrival and seemed to be made of cheap plastic.
I never had a chance to test this item because when I received it with the outer and inner box having no great signs of damage, the unit was already broken. There appeared to be something heavy on the inside of this that was directly connected to the outside gray plastic and in shipping it must have had enough force to break a chunk of that plastic off where it was connected to. I was pretty excited to receive this until then. I decided based off of that I didn't want a replacement for fit. I also didn't realize that it wasn't a unit that came pre-wired. Not a full review but what I am able to give you from what I saw. It would probably be fine for a permanent installation but I question how that plastic would hold up in cold climates like where I live in Minnesota in the winter.
