Very fun. The ships and ghost pirate mechanic add a fun twist to the core Ascension gameplay. We play it all the time

Gave this to my Nephew for Christmas - he couldn't wait to get it home to play. He loves everything about it. the Card variety, The East of learning, the Gameplay and Build quality. Travels everywhere.

Its super entertaining, difficult to figure out first but after you get the hang of it is easy

This is an excellent game, well balanced and challenging enough to entertain hardcore gamers, but still simple enough for casual gamers to learn. There's enough strategy involved to keep you coming back to play again and again, and enough chance from the luck of the draw to keep anyone from dominating no matter how much of a better player they are. It's the only game (aside from maybe Spartacus) that I can bust out with my wife and kid just as easily as my college buddies and have a great fun time with everyone staying competitive. That goes for pretty much the entire Ascension series, but this one is particularly enjoyable. Keep em coming Ultra Pro!!!!

It can be rough playing with two people. Once one person gets the lead it isn't a fair playing field. However, with more than two players this game is challenging. It is a really good variant of Ascension. For two players I would suggest other variants

I loved how fun this version of Ascension is. A lot better than the original. So much more to do, I can play for hours and hours and not even notice the time fly by. I would recommend getting the other pirate version to go with this if you have more than 4 friends to play with.
