I don’t know how you can tell if it works without doing an exact comparison. I have neither the inclination nor desire, or the ability to conduct such scientific examinations, to say nothing about funding the associated cost of such an endeavor. All I can say is I use this product in 2 diesel tractors and associated stored fuel during the 6 cold months of the year when their use is minimal, following the manufacturers directions precisely. Each unit starts and operates with no fuel related problems at any time of year including sub zero F conditions. I have only been using this diesel fuel stabilizer regularly for a few years now, using it seasonally over the winter when in Florida for extended periods in the past. At that time I only had one tractor that was seasonally used to blow snow and, as thus, was operated as needed year around, not stored, except when it was unused when we spent the winter down south. I do not add this stabilizer stuff in the warm weather time of the year. Also, I have used this manufacturer’s similar gasoline product for some 2013-14 stored Honda emergency/RV generators (2), winter seldom used old Tundra, stored old Camry and later a newer Sienna, when in Florida over the winter, 20+ year old lawn equipment (3), etc. The only fuel related problem I’ve had with any of my gas engines was with my 1998 Sears garden tractor, used to mow mostly large confined areas with many trees, where the carburetor got gummed up and could not be adjusted for efficient operation anymore. I just bolted on a $40 replacement in 2019 and all is well. I believe I may have skipped using Sta-Bil every winter in this Sears tractor gas tank (after running the engine on it a little) from time to time as likewise with my high wheel push mower and similar HD string trimmer’ etc.

I use this treatment every winter in my diesel tractors and have never had any gelling issues. I live in SW Ohio where we get temps down to 0 degrees, but normally not very often and not for long periods of time, maybe a week at most. It takes care of my problems.
