The Mcbazel RGB SCART AV Cable delivers superior video quality for NTSC SNES, GameCube, and N64 consoles by enabling RGB output over a 1.8m plug-and-play cable. Ideal for retro gamers and modders, it enhances classic gameplay visuals beyond standard composite connections, though compatibility depends on console version and may require hardware modification for N64.

Its better than composite.
I got this because I knew it would be better than composite and it was cheap, so for the price paid as is its a great cable that gets the job done. If you want a bit of a project and have a spare VGA cable and are handy with a soldering iron you can convert this to a fully shielded cable. Here's a before and after photo.

Great SCART, running though retrotink SCART looks AMAZING!
Modding all my old systems RGB SCART, even though I am in America. I was going to import some of those recommended UK $40+ cables, but gave these a try as UK was out of stock. Modded SNES with Lord Voultars RGB bypass and plugged this cable into the Retrotink SCART. Earthbound title came on and my jaw dropped. I have both RF out and SCART via hdmi hooked up to my Samsung LCD. RF out looked blurry and rainbowed, with ghost images and off sound. Switch over to SCART RGB and you can see every pixel, with straight lines and no blurring. I have no reason to upgrade to those expensive ones. I bet I would not be able to tell the difference with my 15/20 eyesight. Maybe so impressed just with the price I was not expecting much. SNES seriously looks like its emulated on PC. I am still awestruck. This company needs to make a Genesis 1 SCART w audio jack, id buy it!

It's OK
It works OK. The cable doesn't appear to be shielded well. The cord is very thin. I had to jiggle it a bit after plugging it into SNES, but once it worked, I didn't have to mess with it. There appears to be a pixel checkerboard effect on certain colors, which could be the sync signal bleeding into the color signals. It certainly looks a lot better than the composite video I was looking at before, but the cable quality is low and it matters since the signal is analog. I ended up ordering a shielded cable from Retro Gaming Cables.

cheap cable, but OMG it looks amazing after you mod!
When I first started getting into RGB on retro consoles, I was just happy to get SCART -> HDMI so my SNES worked on my big new LCD, I thought I was living the good life reviving an old console... Well after I got this working I figured I'd start trying to get my other consoles on the RGB train, starting with the N64. This led to tons of research and I ended up finding a little something called C-sync (Composite Sync), which I thought was the same thing as sync on composite. OH NO MY FRIEND.. DO NOT CONFUSE THESE TWO. If I had to compare them, I'd say its like going from the old RF adapter and channel-3 to S-video... Buy this cable, and then do yourself a favor and move pin 9 to pin 3 (on the SNES AV connector side) and install 330 - 450 ohm resistor on pin 20 (SCART side), this was a yellow wire on mine. After this, you will basically unlock god mode for your SNES console and see ever bit of detail in crisp amazing color and sharp edges. My eyes still have tears in them after seeing the sprites that had been hidden by terrible video quality my whole life. Literally the best $8.99 I ever spent. I see people complain about being unsheilded but so far I haven't noticed a problem. I did go ahead and buy some metal tape to wrap around it at some point.. but I can't imaging the image quality getting any better than this. FYI, I was fully prepared to drop $50 on a pre-made cable, but they just don't exist right now, none of the retro sites had them in stock. So glad I didn't wait and just did it myself.

Highest image quality for the SNES!
This cable does not work on an NTSC Gamecube, so only buy it if you have a SNES! I'm using it on my SNES, and it works very well. The only complaint I have is that the connection going into the SNES feels a little bit tight- you could probably break something if you tried jamming it in as casually as you might use the regular SNES cable. I'm using it on a 3rd party SCART to HDMI converter. No problems with video quality or audio- everything is colorful, clear, and sharp. The image rivals the quality of the SNES classic (mini), although the SNES classic has slightly sharper visuals (only noticeable if you compare them side by side). Only problem I had is that the image goes black randomly on my HDTV, but I'm not sure why- could be the converter box, or just a loose connection. PS- I did try this on my NTSC Gamecube, and the audio came through but all I got was a black screen.

wired wrong for typical RGB and really low quality cable.
Black screen on my PVM. Basically this cable is extremely low quality, and the wires inside are SUPER thin with no shielding. I'm keeping it to use the connectors. Fair warning, no clue how people opened up the the nintendo multi out connector without completely ruining it. Maybe I don't have the proper tool, but I work with electronics engineering and have plenty of fancy tools. Multi out connector looks like it was glue together, because it popped open and yeeeeeeeea.. I would avoid this and build your own cable or just pay up for the reputable brands if you can find them in stock.

Thin wire but perfect picture imho
Using this to connect SNES to a Scart2x scaler and it works perfectly. Note that if you plan on using this for an N64 it must be Rgb modded first

Get for using with an OSSC
I used this cable to connect my Super Famicom to an OSSC upscaler and its great. Bright crisp clear picture with no signal issues.

Retro streamer or just player must have.
Awesome works perfectly with the retrotink 3xpro. I do live streaming of retro games, and this helped me play via the Retro tink laglessly and effortlessly, while keeping a great sharp visual and sound, for the Genesis, in this case which is not listed by the seller, but it for sure works. I also have the same cord for the SNES and again works flawlessly.

If Scart is your preference this will do
I was sceptical and rightly so since the major brand ($60+) scart cables are praised for being so wonderful. However, if scart is your preference, this sub $20 scart cable will do. Though I am very pleased and experienced no issues at all, it is always a good idea to place your power cables and video cables separately; keeping them from running side-by-side or overlapping. Doing so helps to prevent any electrical interference from power cords that are not shielded well. I have found that keeping the power and video cables apart has always proved to be helpful when enjoying my retro game console on any tv.

Very poor quality, didn't work out of the box.
I rarely do reviews but this cable deserve it. I have other scart cables for genesis, saturn etc... But this one is really cheap made and once I open up the package, the scart plug fell off. Look for another one/brand for this particular Gam3Gear cable for N64. Returned it and didn't ask for replacement.
