Surprisingly good aquarium thermometer for such a cheap price
Honestly, I really love this thermometer because the price is extremely cheap but it competes very well with more expensive aquarium thermometers. When I was looking for one for my fish tank, I wanted something simple, clean-looking, and easy to place on the glass, and this one met all my expectations. Installation is very easy, and I really like that it has two ways to measure temperature and switching between them is simple. The design is minimal but effective, and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. For the price, I honestly don’t think you can go wrong. I highly recommend it because it’s one of those purchases you won’t regret.

I am a trusting sort
I am not sure what temperature the water is. Who am I William Thomson? However, if these things are accurate, my fish are super happy. As it is, the water is neither boiling nor rock solid. Also, the fish are still alive. So, I think it is pretty accurate. Also, I set my heater to 76, and this thing is reading pretty much that. I could not get the suction cups to stick on a couple of my tanks, but I have one that has been stuck for months! (from a previous order). THESE ARE NOT FOR RECTAL TEMPS. I don't know how many times I have to say that. Probably just once, but we shall see.

Didn’t work at first, but now it’s great
I had to turn it on and off a few times before it started to work accurately. It was also on in the shipping box. It was reading crazy temps at first but now it is working well. I also put it too close to the aquarium lights at first and it was reading super high, but I moved it to the middle of the tank and it now seems accurate. I did leave it in the tank for about an hour before it really got to an accurate reading. I really Like it now that it is working properly as the suction cups stay mounted and the numbers are very legible. If you want to switch it from tank to tank, I recommend turning it off then turning it back on when it’s in the new tank so that it reads accurately within thirty seconds rather than taking a while to adjust. My only concern is that people said it has stopped working after a few months. I’ve only had it in for like three days so we will see what happens.

SMALL -UNOBTRUSIVE -BATTERIES INCLUDED - ACCURATE- FLAWLESS OPERATION IN 1ST THREE MONTHS -SIX for $2.82 EACH? WOW!
I used to keep large (90 gal and 75 gal) Cichlid tanks 5 yrs ago then left the hobby. Now I'm getting back in on a much smaller scale with 3 gallon Acrylic Nano tanks. Unless you are keeping coldwater fish such as goldfish that can be satisfied and healthy at room temp water, you will still need to heat these little Nano tanks hence you will need to know what the water temp is. 5 or more years ago, the methods used by aquarists to keep track of water temps were primitive by today's standards. Sure....they had digital technology back then but it was pricey and much cheaper to buy those funky 'stick on' thermometers which were often inaccurate to say the least. After reading reviews and shopping around I went with the AQUANEAT Aquarium Digital Thermometer and glad I did. As I needed at least three right off the bat I decided to take advantage of price discounts offered for buying in quantity. For $16.89 I could buy Six Thermometers with Six included batteries. Nice. I have to admit I had two reasons for buying six. Anticipating more aquariums down the road AND anticipating that maybe the quality might be so-so and I'd have a dud or two right away and need a replacement right away. Much to my pleasant surprise....I opened the first three....popped them into the aquariums and they have been operating flawlessly for the last 3 months and accurate as well. I am extremely pleased with this product. It is easy to use and install it 'disappears' in your tank it is so unobtrusive. The digital display is nice and small as well. With a little suction cup it will stick to the side of your tank and it will also 'disappear' as it is also highly unobtrusive and barely noticeable. The digital display itself is easy to read at a glance. You dont HAVE to stick the display onto your tank. The wiring provided is long enough where I actually have located one of my displays in a remote location from the tank so it's not even 'on' the tank. Now I'm not talking six feet or anything like that but this particular tank is on an office desk and I've situated the digital display where it can't be seen on my desk yet I can pick it up and look at it anytime I want. Nice. So far...I must say....SIX Digital Thermometers with SIX batteries INCLUDED working so well ...at least in the first 3 months of use....all for $16.89 plus free shipping ....doing the math...I paid $2.82 PER THERMOMETER with battery included. C'mon...you can't beat that with a stick! AQUANEAT Aquarium Digital Thermometer Fish Tank Water Terrarium Reptile FREE Extra Batteries (6 Pack)

AQUANEAT Aquarium Thermometer Review
I purchased the AQUANEAT Digital Aquarium Thermometer on December 11, 2021, and it's served me well for over three years! I primarily used it in my bearded dragon's 20 and 40-gallon tanks to accurately monitor the temperature of his basking hammock. It consistently provided reliable readings, which was crucial for ensuring my reptile's health. The unit came with two batteries, and I was impressed by their longevity. Both batteries lasted until February 27, 2025, when the thermometer finally stopped working. That's a solid lifespan for a budget-friendly device! The large LCD display is clear and easy to read, making quick temperature checks a breeze. It did its job perfectly. The only minor downside is that the suction cup was essentially useless and wouldn't adhere to the glass. However, considering the excellent performance and incredibly affordable price, I can easily overlook this. I simply placed the unit where it was easily visible. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the AQUANEAT thermometer. It's a great product at a great price, and it served its purpose admirably for a long time. I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing a reliable and inexpensive temperature monitor for their aquarium or reptile tank.

Inaccurate and doesn’t hold up to water
If I could give this zero stars, I would. It stopped working after 2 days and the readings on it were vastly different multiple other thermometers. This item was compared to 3 different thermometers and it was always off by 3-4+ degrees from all the others that were within .3 of each other.

Simple, accurate, and easy to read
This aquarium thermometer works exactly as advertised. It sticks on easily, stays put, and gives clear, accurate readings at a glance. The numbers are easy to read without needing to get up close, and it responds quickly to temperature changes in the tank. A no-frills, dependable thermometer that does the job perfectly for everyday aquarium care.

Great product for the price.
The six pack is incredibly cheap. Comparisons to other less-fragile designs are unhelpful because the cost will always be much higher than this very common design. This specific design is sold under many different names/brands, but clearly, it is the same product (if not from the same production site, it is at least identical tooling/materials/process). ALL brands of this design have a set of known design flaws. The juncture of the cord entry to the case is susceptible to disruption; the tension of the battery spring/contact is subject to fatigue; and the force required to remove/replace the battery compartment cover contributes to a shorter life of the instrument, which may, or may not, be related to the aforementioned battery contact. All of these details indicate that the set of best practices is to install the unit with care for these design limitations: avoid de/reinstallation cycles; avoid removal of the battery cover; avoid variable tension to the wire at the junction to the case; install the control box at an angle conducive to ease-of-viewing (so that there is no need to manipulate the control box to see the readout. All of this contributes to approximating a single installation event with no further touching, tilting, pulling, or pushing. [Consider my description as an unreasonable goal, but I hope that my description will at least set an expectation the product's durability is inversely proportional to the user's divergence from the goal.] Most of the criticisms of this product are based on inappropriate expectations for its design, including the unfounded assumption that its design should allow for relocation and transfer to a series of installations over time. My solution to that problem is to use a different, more robust (and more expensive) instument. Nothing about the product’s marketing suggests that it should be anything but a single, permanent installation. That said, I have successfully dis-integrated and re-integrated these from time to time, with success, but ALSO with care and forethought regarding the fragile points of its design. Reports persist that certain brands of this singular design are better performers than other brands, and it is clear that these reports are speculative and that the reliability factor between brands is within the bounds of the statistical likelihood of failure across ALL brands. I have used approximately 75 of these units over a period of 5 years, of 5 different brands, and my experience is unexceptionally consistent: some units fail more quickly than others, irrespective of brand/source; the risk of failure correlates with the number of times the product is moved or its placement reconfigured. The risk of failure caused by removal of the battery cover is substantially higher than other sorts of manipulation (for example, dropping the box, or tension on the cord). The reason for this is that the removal and replacement of the cover, while a simple task, requires substantial pressure on other parts of the box to provide the leverage for the maneuver, and these random, repeated squeezes of the outer case seem to be associated with deterioration of performance (such a the display). The suction cup threaded to the wire is most likely present to achieve a specific task: to maintain appropriate constant tension (or lack thereof) to the cord with respect to the junction at the case. Whether applied tension is the designer's intended method of installation is not certain. However, use of the suction cup to preserve a steady-state of the cord tension seems to be a successful aspect of installation. The junction of the cord to the probe-head seems uniformly robust and has never been a point of failure in my experience. The fact that the unit comes with an extra battery should not be construed as evidence that the unit is designed to last longer than the life of the first battery. Rather, I consider the extra battery as a bonus in that I hold these in reserve for other applications (it is a commonly used size/voltage in small electronics)…the retail price of the extra batteries alone exceeds the actual cost of this 6 pack of units.
