The stones are amazing. They put a sharp edge on knives and wood working tools fast. You have to clean them. I use windex widow cleaner and they work just fine. And you may want to build a wooden base for them to. I did and it made them even more handy to use. You can’t go wrong buying these. They are well worth the money. If your wood working and want sharp tools these are the stones. I sharpen wood plane blades, wood turning tools, wood chisels, pocket knives, kitchen knives, hunting knives, and wood jointer electric knives on them. They work well for sharpen scissors to. Yes I would buy them again.

These plates feature monocrystaline diamonds electroplated to a machined steel plate. To keep them from sliding around when sharpening, mount them in a simple jig.So far, they're worked very well at removing metal. I use them to set my bevel on chisels and planing irons (then use a strop for a very fine edge.) I'm very happy with their performance and look forward to many years of keeping my cutty things nice and sharp.

These things are heavy. But they are worth the money. They will move metal on your blades so be careful.

It's been 2 days and I am still scouring the tools to find old dull chisels to help me break in the 2 stones that I purchased. They work great. I started carving a wooden holder for the 2 stones and a stropping piece of leather. I am glad I bought these stones. I would do it again. Using the sandpaper to sharpen my chisels was getting to be too much.

These plates hold up very well. People have been asking me to sharpen their knives, shears and pruners and these plates hold their grit! Highly recommended!

I can't speak to the longevity yet, I haven't had them long enough. But they have sharpened several planes, pocketknives and a set of chisels beautifully so far. It would be nice if they were marked with the grit, but a sharpie made quick work of that.Definitely recommended.UPDATE: I got a new 1200 grit from here, and the new one came with the grit laser etched into the back. Very helpful.

I don’t write reviews but this seemed worthy,decided to give this company a try and I’m glad I did, the stones are a bargain.. good luck deciphering the difference between this and a Trend diamond stone. Also I thought one of the stones seemed to not be absolutely perfectly flat to the .001 tolerances they advertise so to be safe I contacted customer service and got a new stone sent out priority no questions asked. Really above and beyond what you expect to find these days, especially from an affordable company. If you’ve been using water stones and contemplating making the investment I think this is the way to go, you’ll probably want something in the 8-16k range eventually (even just lapping/sandpaper) to really polish those 1200grit scratches for fine work. Also I wouldn’t try to save $ and go cheaper than these, while the difference between this and a trend diamond stone is almost zero, the same can’t be said about more budget options vs this stone.

Makes all my cutting tools extremely sharp. I recommend using Car window cleaning fluid on them as suggested by the woodworking uTubers.
