SPD Custom Molded Product Replacement Basket 27180-009-000 for Hayward Pool Skimmer

These replacement baskets have worked out perfectly in our Aqua Genie skimmers. We were looking for a durable replacement, and these fit securely and perform just as well as the originals. The baskets are sturdy enough to hold leaves, bugs, and other debris without flexing or feeling flimsy. They make cleaning the skimmers quick and easy, and the quality has been excellent so far. It's always nice to find a replacement part that fits well and saves money compared to OEM options. If you're using these in Aqua Genie skimmers, they've been a great fit in our experience. Overall, we're very pleased with the purchase and would definitely order them again when it's time to replace our skimmer baskets.

Bought this exact one 5 years ago. after 5 years, the handle attachment end broke, then I noticed that the plastic fins were starting to break. 5 years is not bad. Bought the same to replace. I found it is sturdy, the handle works very well, and the skimming is in keeping with most every other skimmer out there. Good value, as well.

This is a really nice, sturdy basket replacement and was even better than the one that was ordered with our pool. The handle looks to hold up longer and is more durable for sure! My only issue is the size is just a smidge big and I have to shove it down after cleaning it. Otherwise it gets stuck at the top of the skimmer opening. Once in however it’s quite snug. Edited to add: Basket didn’t even make it a whole year before the weight and handle broke off within a month of each other at the end of our first season. Yes, the basket is durable but thats it! Would not buy again.

fits perfectly

This fit perfectly to replace the basket for my Hayward Pool Skimmer. It's doing a great job of holding the debris the blows into my pool. It was a good price, too. The basket seems sturdier than the one it replaced, which is the orignal basket that came with my pool filter. I am very happy with this purchase!

Wow, super excellent quality and construction. I was surprised when I received it.... it's weighted at the bottom too, so it stays n the skimmer. Highly recommended if u need a new skimmer basket.

EDIT: Seller reached out and offered to send a replacement basket in a month. I'll update again if the new basket is functional. I had previously purchased this same basket in December 2024, and it arrived in perfect condition. So when it was time to replace the basket again, I went right to this product and reordered. Unfortunately what I received this time was junk. The basket handle is too small for the basket and doesn't "lock" in place. The weight at the bottom was shipped loose, and although it will fit on the peg at the bottom of the basket, it's not secure and falls out. When I reached out to the seller, their message to me was literally: "The weight should be installed on the bottom, but you can also install it yourself. If the weight doesn't secure, you can replace it with a different one. The basket handle should lock you may have purchased a poor-quality basket. Thank you for your feedback. We will be sure to pass this information on to the supplier." Um, excuse me? It is somehow my fault that this is a poor-quality basket? I'm going to rig this to make it work, but it should not have arrived this way and I would caution anyone else from buying this item.
