I love this soap. My friend recently got me into goat milk soap and bought me another brand, which is very nice too, but wasn't scented. I started to look for other brands, ones with some nice smells and I found this brand after I tried about 4 other brands and love it. The bar size is just right. It lathers up so nicely too, and it smells awesome, I can't wait to take showers just to use it. It really is a great bar of soap, it makes your skin feel soft with no soapy residue left behind and did I mention how lovely it smells?! It really does smell awesome. I have since bought all of the bars they offer minus the non-scented one, I can't wait to use them all. This will definitely be my new soap, I hope they make these forever.

Quality soap. A little expensive but worth it. Leaves skin soft and moisturized, good size it last long n lather well so you don't need a lot. The smell is soft not overpowering.

I bought this for my son who has eczema. The product smells really good, provides moisture and was very long lasting. It was sensitive to his skin and I even started buying it for myself because it just smelled great and felt really clean after use.

Initially, I had the feeling that the Pine Tar soap would not be helpful for sensitive skin/skin conditions, such as eczema. I was surprised when I used it because it didn't irritate my skin, but is gentle. I feel good about the combination of pine tar, hemp oil, and goat milk. There are a few reasons for why I give "4 1/2" stars instead of 5. The main reason is the scent which, to me, smells like an inexpensive perfume. I would love this soap if it had a natural, earthy scent. The pine tar itself, no scent added, would be great. The added fragrance gives me concern about whether the soap is truly gentle for sensitive skin. I would also prefer the Pine Tar soap without the oatmeal in it. I understand that oatmeal soothes skin, but it feels more like rough little grains that it does soothing. Lastly, I was a little bit annoyed because the soap bar I received, while of decent size, was almost like two bars. One side was thick, the other side was not nearly as thick, with the corner half the size of the thicker part of the soap bar. I'm definitely glad to have ordered the bar I'm trying out. Will I order again? I'm not quite sure, yet.

UPDATE: 04/29/2019 - Been using this soap for a couple of weeks now and I'm still loving it! My skin feels so soft and smooth after coming out of the shower and the scent lightly lingers on the skin. If you like Sandalwood and Patchouli, you'll love this soap. I have used this soap and the lovely fragrance can be smelled through the box. My only issue is that the manufacturer should have included a clear plastic film or cellophane film over the box because the soap is exposed through the opening of the box. I have tried the Dead Sea fragrance and that is also lovely and mild. Leaves your skin feeling really smooth without drying it out.

This will be a long review because I want to like this soap and I wish the company well. I purchased pine tar and bay rum bars. My situation: Winter 2018/2019. Live in Colorado, own dogs, chickens, rabbit, and a toddler. Do strength training in an unheated garage. Work 12.5 hour shifts in a cleanroom factory wearing silly gloves. Ride a mountain bike a few times a week. Run three times a week every other week. Frequently use axes and knives. My hands spend most of the winter in pain. I wash my hands countless times every day. During the winter at this elevation, that’s bad. That’s cracked skin that is not easy to treat. I also shower at least twice a day. Usually 3 times on working days. That dries out the skin even more. I have a triple thick beard. No voids. Heavy growth. I eat a lot. A lot. That leads to more frequent beard washing than desirable. I like things that smell good. D.B’s peppermint soap had me hooked from the scent alone. I don’t mind expensive things. My gym equipment and guns were expensive. But their value is greater than the cost. Those are what I am rating this soap on. It slightly assists with keeping skin dryness down. Not bad but not great either. Better than most options but nothing spectacular. If you don’t have the issues to overcome that I do then it may be amazing. If you do, it’s not worth the cost. Moisturizing effect: 3 stars for me. The soap filled one level of the house with fragrance when I first opened the amazon box. Smelled amazing. That stopped the next morning. The bay rum has next to no scent. That’s disappointing because bay rum is a favorite scent. The pine tar is very subtle. To me that’s good, but it makes me wonder how much is in the bar. It seems like the scent was just sprayed on the surface. The pine tar also has rough bits like an oatmeal soap. I’m a Marine Corps and Army combat veteran but I would prefer not to have skin slicers in my soap. It ruins the relaxation of showering. Smell: 0-1 stars. This stuff lathers exceptionally well. That’s a remarkable characteristic. You can sponge your body for a very long time with this soap. It sits and cleans without running away like most soaps. Lather: 5 stars. I was initially hopeful that the soap would last long enough to match the price. Most soaps do not. Like road construction lasting six months, many products simply serve to increase sales and profits while not caring one bit about overall value. And after a few days this soap picks up its exit speed rapidly. I use a saucer with a raised center to allow the soap to dry quickly. But to get any kind of longevity, this soap needs cut into pieces. This is an industry-wide issue. Longevity: 1 Star. 4 stars, maybe, at half the price. For the beard... it’s ok. It helps maintain some softness. It may be amazing in a different environment. Or on thinner beards. It’s not bad. I haven’t noticed any drying effect from the soap. 3.5 stars. Those are based on the cost. At half the price: add 2-3 more stars per rating. Three stars overall are because I don’t regret buying. I won’t buy them again, but I’m alright with the one time. Twice at full price would be letting myself get robbed, though.

This soap in on auto-ship at our house. The fragrance is unique and subtle, and the soap rinses clean and is moisturizing. If you're considering a purchase, you should give it a try.
