This watercolor set is so lovely!!! It’s wonderfully pigmented but also very easy to blend so it’s hard to go wrong! For the price point, I think you’re getting more than what you pay for. I especially love that the colors are individually packaged and labeled so that if you run out of a color, you can just order a replacement instead of a whole new pallet. I have 2 Paul Reubens sets and I cannot think of one bad thing to say about them, truly. Wether you’re a beginner, or a learned artist, this pallet is a great option! ** Word to the wise: when you peel the label/sticker off of each paint pot, stick it to the bottom of the plastic instead of discarding it! This way you can remember which color to order should you run out. :) hope this helps!

These Paul Rubens paints are absolutely amazing and have completely changed my painting experience. I originally started with a much cheaper student set but I eventually decided to upgrade to something with better reviews. The difference in the pigment load is like night and day. One of the standout features of this set is that the formula uses honey as a binder. This makes the paints much thicker and more luscious than standard sets. You do not have to use nearly as much product to get a rich and vibrant colour on the paper. Unlike cheaper brands they are not chalky at all and they stay creamy even after they have dried in the pans. While this set is a bit more of an investment it is completely worth it for the amount of variety you receive. Having forty eight colours at your fingertips is a massive time saver if you do not want to spend your entire session mixing your own shades. It allows you to jump straight into the creative process with high quality professional results.

I decided to purchase a better quality set of watercolors and decided on these since the set was a Prime Day deal. So better value. Every watercolor is wrapped (shows a # and color name in English). You have to remove the block from the row and remove the paper. Another reviewer recommended that you put the paper cover on the bottom of the block in case you have to re-order a block in the future. (Which I did) Then re-insert the block -This does take time! All the documents are in Chinese so you really don’t have a name associated to the color except on that small paper you are removing - should have written those down, but too much trouble now to remove the blocks again to obtain the color name. a printed color swatch is included but the sheet does not really match the actual color. (That is why 4 stars), especially the first column of paint, as shown in one of the pics. So I painted samples of each one on a card that is provided and it references the # of the color. The order of color # referenced in the palette match the order on the swatch sheet and the card. Colors are very vibrant and just doing the samples I can tell the paint is good quality!
