Some like it hot!!
Like many people, I like drinking coffee. I like hot, and iced, coffee, but I prefer the hot version, especially when it's cold outside. I used to put my cup of coffee in the microwave, so that I could return it to that perfect sipping temperature, but that isn't very efficient. Taking the time to go to the closest microwave is less time spent doing whatever it was that you were doing. On top of that, microwaves require a lot of electricity, even if you're just using it briefly to raise the temperature of your coffee back to enjoyable levels, but what other options are there, you might ask. I started using candle warmers a long time ago. They keep coffee warm, and they don't use much electricity, but warm coffee isn't hot coffee. I stumbled upon this Elite Gourmet electric single burner, and had to try it. Will it keep my coffee hot? Will it still be more cost effective than continually reheating coffee in a microwave? Will it be safe enough to use anywhere, or I should say, anywhere with an electrical outlet, and a table, or desk, to put it on? For starters, it definitely keeps my cup of coffee hot. In fact, I only turned the dial up to 2, and my coffee was hot. So hot that I had to turn the dial down to between 1 and 2. For me, that's the sweet spot. With the temperature dial set at 1.5, or one and a half, if maintained my coffee at the perfect temperature, for me. As for the difference in power usage, I will have to return, and update this review in 1-3 months, so please return to this review later to check for that update. I can say that I get a lot more done due to not trekking back and forth to a microwave, and getting more done, whether it's work, hobby, or whatever, is always a good thing. Lastly, is it safe to use everywhere that makes sense? The short answer is......it depends. If you have enough space to place the burner so that it's not close to a wall, or things that can melt, or catch on fire, the answer is yes, but the surface it's setting on needs to be considered too. I used an infrared temperature gun to take intermittent temperature readings under, and around the burner, while keeping the burner setting at 2 for exactly one hour. I discovered that the hottest zone, other than the burner itself, was directly under the burner. So, whatever you're using this burner for, whether it's to keep your coffee hot, or for cooking food, you need to be careful, and make sure that you turn it off if you're going to leave it unattended. Anything that gets hot enough to cook food on, is hot enough to be potentially dangerous, if you're not being careful, and this device gets very hot, very quickly. Anyway, I really like this burner. It works excellent. It's very easy to operate, it's light enough to transport, providing you wait until it's cooled down first, and it doesn't take a lot of space to use on a counter, table, or desk. It's easy to clean, but make sure to unplug it first, especially if you're using a damp cloth, or sponge, and don't use a scratch pad, or any abrasive cleaning pad, especially metal ones, like SOS, or Brillo. Please read the instructions before using it. I even think the burner looks nice. If I had to nitpick, I would like it even better if it had a digital display showing the temperature. While I have a infrared temperature gun, to check the temperature of each of the 1-Max dial settings, it would be nicer to have a digital display, so that you could see the temperature without having to use a separate device. I will say that the temperatures for each dial setting are consistently the same, after multiple different readings. It's a great product, and I'm glad that I bought it. I'm considering purchasing another one, so that I don't have to transport this one to and from places. I'll update this review in a few months, to add how cost effective it is, compared to using a microwave. I hope this review helps.

Nice little hotplate.
Bought this to use in a hotel room on vacation. It heats up fast and works great. No problem getting water to boil. The only issue I found was that it takes a long time to cool back down. I think this is a great little hotplate for the money.

From Chef to Cat Dad: A simple, reliable way to cook with care (no gas needed)
As a professional chef with over 20 years of experience, Iโve worked with all kinds of cooking equipmentโfrom industrial kitchens to simple home setups. But honestly, it wasnโt until I needed something practical to prepare meals for my cats, Camila and Camila, that I truly appreciated how useful a device like this can be. I spend time in Mexico, where I prefer not to rely on gas all the timeโfor both convenience and safety. This Elite Gourmet double burner has been a simple yet incredibly effective solution. I use it daily to boil chicken, cook vegetables, and heat water quickly for their meals. It heats up fast, and the temperature control is straightforward and reliable. One thing I really appreciateโas someone used to cleaning kitchensโis how easy it is to maintain. A quick wipe with a damp cloth and itโs good to go. Itโs also compact, doesnโt take up much space, and is easy to move around when needed. Itโs not a professional-grade stove, of course, but it does exactly what it promises. If you love cooking or care deeply about preparing food for your pets, or simply want a dependable alternative to gas, this is a great investment. And for the price, it honestly feels like a steal.

Simple / good
Ya get what ya pay for. In this case itโs exactly that. Works as intended. Cheap. I just use it at work on occasion to warm up food. Simple and effective. Takes a bit longer to cook than the real deal naturally.

Great power and portability!
Huge bang for the buck. I use this in our boathouse for cooking and frying outside. It works amazing. The heat level is awesome. Itโs light and easy to move around and the chord is a great length. It has exceeded my expectations for what I would have considered before to be a โhot plateโ itโs made frying fish and chicken so much easier because I donโt have to worry about the smell inside since I can plug this in right outside! Great product!

Totally changing this review.
I falsely state that this item died after 5 months. It was getting barely warm without getting hot enough to actually cook anything. That was a mistake. I have totally removed that review and my low star rating. This morning I discovered that there was an electrical problem with the outlet I was using to plug this item in. With a working outlet, the hotplate is still working just fine so far, 5 months after purchase. For this pricepoint, which is pretty low, if it lasts a year or two, I'd consdier that a win.

If one burner is good ...two are better ..
I recently picked up this Elite Gourmet double burner for my small kitchen / office / extra cooking space, and overall Iโm pretty happy with it. Itโs compact, easy to use, and has made life a little easier when I donโt want to fire up my full stove. The unit features two cast-iron flat cooking plates โ one about 6.5โณ and the other about 6โณ (some specs say 7โณ and 6โณ) โ and a combined wattage of about 1,500W. Having dual burners means I can boil water on one side and sautรฉ veggies on the other, which is nice when space or stove burners are tight. The controls are simple: each burner has its own knob for Low/Med/High and there are power indicator lights so you know when each plate is on. The build feels decent for the price: the cast-iron surfaces are good for heat distribution, and the non-stick or flat surfaces make cleanup easier than coil burners. A number of reviewers mention ease of use and portability. In everyday use itโs worked well: for example, I boiled water in one pot and used the other burner for simmering a sauce โ cooking time was nearly in line with what Iโd expect from my regular stove (though not quite as fast). The size is good โ the footprint is modest (roughly 9โณ deep x 16.5โณ wide x about 3โณ high) according to a spec sheet. On the flip side, there are a few things to watch. One user noted that the cord length is a bit short (so depending on your outlet you might need an extension). Also, as with many cast iron plate burners, heat-up and cool-down times can be slower compared with true induction or high-end burners. Some users also found that for very large pans (10โณ or more) the plates are borderline in size. Bottom line: If you need a reliable, space-saving extra burner โ maybe for a dorm, office, small kitchen, buffet station, or as a second cook surface โ this model gives a lot of value. Itโs not perfect for high-end or professional use, but for everyday supplementary cooking it works well. --- โ Pros Two independent burners (dual plates) for more flexibility. Decent wattage (โ1,500W total) gives usable heat for most everyday cooking. Cast-iron flat plates offer better contact and easier cleaning compared to coil elements. Simple, intuitive controls and indicator lights for safety/use clarity. Compact footprint and portable โ good for small spaces, extra cooking surface, buffet use. Runs off 120V standard outlet (no special wiring needed). --- โ Cons Burner plate sizes may be limiting for very large pots/pans (10โณ or bigger may extend beyond ideal surface). Heat-up / cool-down times slower compared with professional grade or induction units. Short power cord in some units; placement of outlet may matter. Because of the size and dual plates, it still takes up some counter space โ if your area is ultra-tight youโll want to check dimensions carefully. As with all heated plates, caution needed after use because plates stay hot for a while; as one video review mentions.

Electric Burner that Really Serves its Purpose
I purchased this electric burner because we are doing a kitchen remodel and we need a place to cook things. The burner works great. The only negative I have is that it takes a long time to heat things up but maybe that is with all electric burners. I've never used one before so I can't compare. It does stay hot for quite a while so it's probably not something you want around kids for safety reasons. It is doing the trick for what we need it for and I am very happy with the purchase.

Works well
Works great and efficiently!! We used this to create a sort of hot pot supper, but also to have on hand in emergency situations. No complaints, easy to use, base gets VERY hot so keep oven mitts near by (it has a warning right on it). I used a place mat underneath it on the table for safe measure (it has decent clearance) and the table was totally fine with it sitting for almost two hours.
