Wella Professionals Color Fresh Mask, Color-Depositing Gloss Treatment

I had medium brown/blonde hair that was toned a slightly strawberry shade about 6 weeks ago and I wanted a refresh so I ordered the Caramel color. It took me about 5-7 minutes to get this product thoroughly into my hair and I left it on about another 5 minutes. Impressed with the results! It’s almost a bit darker than I wanted but very much more red and I assume it’ll get lighter gradually with washing. I used about half a tube but I have a lot of hair. My hair is super soft now too. Didn’t stain the bathtub or my wrists (I wore gloves).

I had a lot of blonde in my hair that I recently covered with a dark dye, but as expected, the color faded faster from the more porous areas. After about six weeks, the top of my hair (where most of the blonde was) had lightened to a light brown, while the ends stayed a cool espresso shade. I didn’t want to go back to the salon so soon, so I picked up this color depositing mask. I followed the directions, I shampooed in the shower, rinsed thoroughly, wrung my hair out well, and even stepped out of the tub to towel dry it a bit more. Then I put on gloves, applied the mask generously, brushed it through evenly, and left it on for about 15 minutes. It worked pretty well. The top was still slightly lighter, and it didn’t affect my roots much the first time, but I could already see an improvement. Two days later, I applied it again, this time focusing on my roots and the top of my head. I used a different conditioner on the bottom since that part was already dark. After the second use, I was much happier with the results. Everything looked more blended, my roots were better toned, and the previously blonde areas on top were darker, making my overall color more uniform and just prettier ✨💖🥰 It also made my hair incredibly soft, shiny, and smooth. I love the formula! It’s perfect for stretching time between salon visits, especially if you’re trying to avoid more damage after bleaching. I’ve already bought another bottle. I think it works really well, but it’s not necessarily a one and done miracle, especially if your hair has multiple tones like mine. Stick with it and give it a couple of uses for the best results. I can’t wait to see how it looks after another use or two. Definitely a lifesaver! PS - I applied it only to my naturally lighter roots (which had already blended pretty well after my first two mask treatments as you can see in the photos). I put it on dry hair and let it sit for 15–20 minutes to really deepen the color, and it worked beautifully. If roots is all you plan to do, just keep in mind it may take a couple of applications to reach your desired shade because I did already do the mask twice on wet hair.

It serves as a temp fix for hair dye blending issues. My hair color is all over the place from years of dying and natural lightening from the sun. This color mask darkened the lightened-dried out ends, while maintaining my naturally brown roots on top. It didn't really cover any gray areas, but I havent come across a temporary dye that does. This was a lot easier to apply. It can be used as directed or to save time, in the shower.

I ordered this to see if it was a suitable replacement for Colorlux. I dye my hair light ginger brown and like to freshen up the orange red tones. The tube came in the mail and I was a little disappointed because it was so small. It was half off when I purchased it, and it was a trial to find a new product, so nbd. I was so excited to apply it I didn't use gloves. I've used a lot of similar products and thought I knew the routine. Holy mackerel this is pigmented! It stained my hands. The formula is very thick so I had to use half a tube for collarbone length hair. Not very fiscally feasible but because of the pigment I consider the cost to be sort of a wash. I removed most of the color from my hands using a fake tan chemical exfoliant and prep foam. It worked pretty well but they are still kind of orange, which makes me think when my hair is dry it will be very pigmented! I overall like the product. No before and after pics, i am a teacher and I don't want my face out there. But it definitely put a lot of color down in my hair (and hands!) in a short amount of time, seems very conditioning and very pigmented compared to colorlux and keracolor. I just can't justify the price point as a weekly mask, so I knocked one star. But the product itself is great!

I have coarse, color-treated hair, and this mask has worked really well for me. It leaves my hair feeling much softer, smoother, and easier to manage without weighing it down. After just a few uses, my hair looked healthier and felt more hydrated, especially on the dry ends. I also love that it helps keep my color looking vibrant while adding moisture and shine. The texture is rich, a little goes a long way, and it rinses out easily. My hair feels silky and much less frizzy after every treatment. Overall, this has become a regular part of my hair care routine. It's a great product for anyone with coarse, color-treated hair who wants extra hydration and healthier-looking hair. Highly recommend!

Love this mask! It toned down the uneven warm areas in my hair and gave me a rich, glossy chocolate brown without using permanent dye. Super easy to use, left my hair soft, and the color came out beautiful. Definitely recommend! 🤎

11/4/25. I wanted to love this. I'm trying to take a break from coloring my hair, I'm 67 yrs old and thought this might help me through this transition of going gray since it's not permanent and washes out quick. While my hair is soft after using, it actually turns the gray hair an unwanted orange color. So the gray line around my face is now orange. My hair is thinning and fine and I had hoped this would give it more dimension . I'm not saying this is a bad product, it just isn't what I had hoped for. It didn't damage my hair at all and the ends are definately darker, enough so it covers the orange when styled, and the gray comes through again pretty quick, so if you are trying this method to get thru this awful transition, save your money. I would have given this a 4 but the orange!! UGH! I also want to add that like hair color, this product will help with shine and softness. I am predisposed to red hair, thanks to my Beloved Mother! Scottish heritage. So again, while I believe this is a good product, it just isn't the answer to my problem. One other thing, it's quite a process, you must first wash your hair, towel dry, and then apply this toner, wait ten minutes {or how ever long you prefer to have it on}, and then rinse it out. If I think of anything else to add, I will do an update.

Wear gloves. I have bronde hair with balayage and grays. I've used this mask twice now. Both times I left it in for the full 10 minutes, targeting my grays first, then working through my ponytail. I combed the whole thing out to ensure consistent coverage, and then piled my hair on top of my head while I waited. The first time I was very happy with the golden blonde look that resulted but I didn't shampoo or condition afterwards, and I didn't like how my hair felt. It was rough in texture and felt weighted down. The color lasted about one week. Note that it will tone your grays but not 'cover' them, and they will return to silver in a couple of days. The second time I used the mask, I did everything the same but I shampooed and conditioned afterwards. My hair texture was much improved, smoother and while the shampoo took up a bit of the color, I am much happier with the results. The only reason I am giving this four stars is because of the strong perfume scent and that I wish they made a slightly ashier blonde version. Shampooing after application helped to minimize the fragrance. The color is very pretty but it is warm-toned and not every balayage blonde is going to want that. I was tired of spending so much money and time at the salon for a gloss only to have it wash out in a week. I'm glad I tried this as it will become part of my maintenance routine.

Used Golden Gloss. My grey is a very cold icy silver and dark grey. Very aging for me, but I'm done with block colour. I was looking for something non permanent that would just warm it through a little. I'm absolutely over the moon with the colour, very subtle on my dark grey bringing a warmer tone and has picked up some of the red I used to naturally have... so happy about that. The very white silver at the front and through the top has warmed into a light warm blonde. So very happy with the results. This will now be a a solid addition to my hair care routine.😊

Tomar en cuenta que deja el cabello más cenizo, oscurece el rubio, tuve que regresarlo, casi me quita lo decolorado :(

I am so impressed with this hair mask! It deeply nourishes and hydrates blonde hair, which usually tends to get dry, leaving it super soft, silky, and easy to comb. It also does an amazing job at keeping the blonde tone fresh and bright without drying out the ends. My hair looks healthy, shiny, and salon-fresh after every use.
