Good Quality Wire Taps
Although all taps look the same, these 3M taps are a quality purchase. Assuming you have the right size wire for the tap you are buying, these easily bite through the wire insulation and make good contact with the wire. Also, the tap has a dielectric grease in it to help keep moisture out of the connection.

Good for outdoor landscaping lights
This is a very strong wire join and tap. I use it for the outdoor landscaping LED Lights. It was a little hard to press the bigger 14WGA wire but you can force it in the slot by the flat screwdriver. This is the 3M product so the quality is very good with a strong housing and the soft silicone moisture sealant inside. It is low cost ($0.40 each, or $0.80 a pair) and a good alternate part to the other wire join device which costs more than $2 for a pair. Highly recommended for the DIYer.

Works well with the right technique.
It's a great connector when you have the right tools. It's a real stretch using 16G wire. Don't try 14G, it will be a headache and probably not work. If you have a long run and need 14G I would recommend another form of connection. A thin shafted screwdriver will make life easier when you're trying to attach the main run to the connector. Once you get the process down it's a great connector and holds and seals well. The goop displaced (displacement connector) really isn't a big deal. We'll see how well they hold up in the Florida weather.

Seem to work well, but a little bit of a pain
These connectors seem great, though I haven't had them through a rainy season yet. They are filled with silicone grease which helps make them water-resistant, so you'll want to wear disposable gloves while you are installing them. I used them with 16/2 landscape zip wire and while they work fine with that gauge wire, getting the wire into the connector was a little challenging, what I finally wound up doing was pressing the wire into the little channel with some needle nose pliers and that worked great. Then on some of them, I'd have to squeeze the flap closed with pliers after I squeezed the little splice fork into place. Overall not too hard to use, but it took me some time to figure out a method which worked, maybe, if you can understand what I've described it will save you some time.

Great item to use on your trailer/car lighting needs!
Have used this before on car headlights add-ons and now on trailers. These are great at minimizing wire failure on your lights as the grease prevents your connections from going bad in all weather!

Worked good
We bought the 3M Electrical IDC 804-POUCH, Blue, 18-16 AWG for a van build we were doing. They worked just like we wanted and we would buy this product again if we ever needed them.

Used for landscape lights hope they last in the weather
Received (2) packages of 25 each connectors at $8.00 a pack. These were recommended to use by a landscape company that installs low voltage landscape lights and has tried them all. NOTE the Scotchloks are filled with what appears to be silicon grease to provide water proofing. Alternates looked at - Malibu at $12.34 for 2 (easiest to install on the main line but connection to the light leads might have to be with wire nuts), SRRB $16.99 for 6 (requires separating the wires like the Scotchloks), Leonlite $10.59 for 20 (require stripping and twisting the wires together). My installation required 18 connectors, total in all will be 34. Time will show if these are well suited or not exposed to the elements . Misty rain last night and all still working fine. Service 12 VAC 7 watts.

Top notch (the best)
These are the proper nylon scotch locks not the cheap nasty one the cheap ones break when you try and use them and are useless these cut straight thru wires and make very short work of wiring repairs

Awesome !
If you have constant issues with the connection on your outdoor low voltage lights these are the ones to buy. There is a great video on you tube (outdoor lighting supply blue connectors) to see how to properly connect your low voltage wiring. They snap together and the gel material ensures moisture does not enter. Very easy to use.
