Had my ender 3 v2 for about 3 years, and suddenly mid print the printer stopped feeding filament into the extruder properly. It made the print very fragile and much less dense. I noticed that if I pushed the filament into the stepper motor it would print normally, but as soon as I stopped manually feeding it the print would become fragile again. I disassembled the stock part to find there was a crack in the plastic and it want pinching the filament correctly while feeding. This replacement is much stronger, made from metal, with dual gears for gripping the filament. Easy swap out, takes about 5 mins, and immediately fixes the issue. Good price and good quality.

Sadly in my use case, the extruder eventually eats itself due to the washer being too small on the shaft. Overtime it basically generates heat and the metal is basically cheese so as you can imagine the cheese eventually melts and the washer starts eating away at the frame of the extruder. This one lasted me about 6 months, printing maybe 5 hours per day. Used on a Voxelab Aquila, prints lovely whilst it lasts, but these things shouldn't really be a consumable item if constructed properly. I've had these without the so mentioned 'washer' and they last about the same amount of time. I think I'll stick to a BMG or Titan. Shame as the other redrex titan and standard one gear extruder work great and have lasted since installation on my other printers. The only reason this still remains 4 star is that the customer services received was excellent, communication was good and issue resolved to my satisfaction.

TLDR; works great on FLSUN Q5 after upgrading A4988 driver. I took a gamble to see if this would work for my FLSUN Q5. I wasn't a huge fan of the default Titan (like) extruder. It would often fail to grip different filaments and I was constantly adjusting it. The gamble has seemed to pay off. This fits perfectly! However, after fitting I found the stepper motor would slip significantly, even after calibrating E-steps, making an awful noise. No amount of checking the bowden tube, adjusting print speed, feed/flow rates seemed to help, unless I went very slow. So, I had the genius idea to check the Vref on the A4988 driver as it simply wasn't keeping up. Thankfully, I forgot to put on my glasses and accidently shorted it. This meant I needed to order a TMC2209 replacement driver. I used the BIGTREETECH KINGPRINT TMC2209 v1.2 which work great. After putting on my glasses, I dialed the Vref to 1.273 Vdc giving 0.9 Amps as per stepper motor spec. Note: This is very close to factory default, so you could just drop these in. I also insulated to Vref/Diag pins as they're pretty close to the capacitors on the MKR Robin Nano v1.2 board in the FLSUN Q5. After calibrating the E-steps I got approx. 147, slightly higher than the 100-139 specified. End result is a super quiet, smooth and consistent extrusion. So, I am pretty pleased so far.

Solid little package. Instructions were less than obvious on how to put it all together but it wasn’t too complex in the end. Great care is needed in alignment though to make feeding new filament work. My printer has klipper installed and it was easy enough to calibrate the extruded. The filament comes out with fine even and clean teeth marks on two sides. Made a clear difference from the plastic stock extruder.

The one I bought looked like it had been used as some of the coating was worn where screws and bolts would be. The unit came completed disassembled and with no instruction so took longer to assemble than it really should have. It works fine and is doing the job so it is good overall. Shame about the previous points mentioned though

Hab meinen Ender 3 Pro von dem serie solo Gear Feeder auf Dual Gear aufgerüstet. Würde ich auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen: Aufbau: ein bisschen knifflig mit der Feder, aber es machte schon beim Aufbau einen sehr soliden Eindruck. Sonst eigentlich ganz einfach - alten Feeder abschrauben, neuen dranschrauben und Filament durchführen und schon ist es startklar. Anwendung: Auch nach längerem Einsatz muss ich sagen, ich bin mehr als zufrieden. Selbst bei feineren Drucken, wo der Feeder sehr präzise arbeiten muss und auch oft das Filament vor und wieder zurückschieben muss, macht der dual Gear Feeder sehr gute Arbeit.

Bought this extruder for my 2020 model CR-10 after I had inconsistent extrusion and skipping on my prints from my aluminum single gear extruder and tried everything else I could think of to fix it. A few things off the top of my head: -As other reviews have pointed out, this version of the low-cost dual gear design includes washers to prevent the gears from grinding off the aluminum as they turn--this is the only one I've seen on Amazon that acknowledges that design flaw! -An issue that I HAVEN'T seen in reviews (probably because it's such an obscure upgrade) is that, while it IS compatible with the CR-10, it's not perfectly compatible with the PrinterMods direct drive upgrade right out of the box. This extruder is substantially thicker than the stock Creality one the PrinterMods upgrade is designed for, so the M3x25 screws included with that upgrade are /just/ too short to mount the motor + extruder to the printhead, and the screws you get with this package DEFINITELY aren't long enough to do the job. I'll update this review later to see how it works in action, but PrinterMods users--you WILL need to replace the two M3x25 screws you used to mount the motor to the printhead with M3x35, and I recommend adding a matching nut to ensure you can screw it all the way in. (It's overkill, but I ordered the iexcell M3 screw variety pack with the 50 nuts and five different lengths of screws--it's only ~$9 on Amazon though, so unless you found a cheaper M3x35 nut and bolt pack, that's what I can personally recommend.) -Definitely recalibrate your e-steps after you install this--in my case the included suggestion of 139 steps/mm was spot on, but it doesn't hurt to use this as a starting point for your calibration, since either way you're going to need to bump up your e-steps from stock for this kind of extruder. -If you're confused on how to install this, check out CHEP's video specifically about installing them. The included instructions are pretty vague if you haven't done extruder upgrades before, but I think that video is super easy to follow for beginners. Like I said, so far so good--after calibrating e-steps this extruder consistently extrudes the amount of filament you tell it to, has a firm grip on the filament without grinding it down or biting into it too deeply (at least with PLA--I'll see about PETG and other filaments one of these days), and shows no sign of slippage. Again, since I need to get longer screws to mount it on my particular setup, I'll update this review later to see how it works extruding hot filament proper, but if you need a solid dual gear extruder and don't want to break the bank, get THIS one! UPDATE 9/14/22: So I managed to finally get this thing mounted and tested extruding hot filament and it works beautifully! I won't knock off a star for this, but I WILL note that, for my extruder, I had to chamfer the second hole that fed the filament through the PTFE tubing a bunch since the gears didn't perfectly line up with that hole, making it so not only did I have difficulty feeding filament through, but it shaved off the filament as the extruder worked. This extruder is solid in every other aspect but this one, and while I would still certainly recommend it over other dual gear models on Amazon, I would advise having a needle file on hand just in case your hole(s) are misaligned/undersized. You get what you pay for, as they say. UPDATE: 9/23/22: After some fairly light but solid use, I can safely say that this is very likely your best budget dual gear option on Amazon right now. My only gripe that still remains is that it's finicky to actually get the filament through the gears AND to the hotend, but I imagine that's just because of my own weird setup, and I've heard that people have issues feeding filament through their stock/single-extruder setups anyways. If you're like me and you're patient (and desperate) enough to stick with it once you buy it, I still recommend getting a needle file just in case you need to widen the feed hole--after adding extra clearance it works just fine and no longer shaves away the filament.

Great extruder, using two gears instead of a bearing, the alu housing also is a big stepup from the original plastic and now the filament hole is also easier to find and put new filament in.
