Is this porous or non-porous chalkboard material?

Hello! The chalkboard vinyl is non-porous.

I put mine on the side of my fridge and the magnets work ontop of it if that helps at all

Can I use it on a painted wall?

I would be hesitant if you think you might want to remove it down the road without having to repaint (and possibly re-texture) the wall. When I removed it from the easel I applied it to, it left behind a lot of adhesive, which was very difficult to remove. Plus, I found it extremely hard to apply without bubbles, and especially if you have a textured wall, if you try to peel it up to re-position it, it would probably lift up some of the drywall texture.

Can you put food on this? Thinking of using it on wood for a cheeseboard.
