Fantastic wood smoke scents
Easily the best wood incense I've ever smelled. Not perfumey, just perfect wood smoke. I'm a huge fan of these and I've tried a few other since, and no one comes close to this quality.

A little bit pricier than their single scent packs
But if you haven't tried this brand of incense, this is an amazing dip in the world of this particular style of incense. My only gripe is the included holder, it really seems like it wasn't designed to hold the shape of incense properly. If they made it a little deeper with a flatter bottom it would be perfect to prevent the incense tipping over. That's the bad out of the way. We've swapped to burning this in one of those Irish turf peat incense cottages, and it extends the burn time considerably, which creates a really nice lingering aroma, like we've had a fire going for hours. If you want a nice quick burst of scent, one that lasts an hour or so, the included burner is perfect. A nice strong punch of fire smell hits hard and provides a superb short term atmosphere. When it's slowed down (the ceramic options from this company are very similar, and would work the same I'm sure) there's a little layer of incense smoke that lingers at a lower pungency that mimics a real fire perfectly. Depending on the incense you can transport yourself to a mountain cabin, a tee P Pee on the plains, an Adobe hut in the rolling hills. Just light an incense and close your eyes.. We're about to choose our favorites and order a couple of larger packs, but honestly I didn't mind even the scents I thought I'd disagree with. I smoke meat with mesquite all the time, but it's a very strong scent. The mesquite blocks are authentic in scent, but dial it way back and don't overpower our space. Juniper hits all the right notes without touching on the cat liquid waste smell that juniper can have. Overall I'm impressed, and even though we're picking a few scents to buy larger packs of, we'll probably be grabbing a sampler later to re visit the scents we didn't love but kinda miss. They're very similar scents across the board, but hit on very accurate notes. Burning wood smells like burning wood, but there's very nice subtle notes in each one that makes it distinct. We bought our house without a fire place, after having a fireplace for a decade or two, and this really hits on the clean, homely scent that we're missing in our lives.

Natural, fairly priced, not overwhelming. Like a small campfire in your space.
Probably the best smelling, natural incense I've ever purchased. Thank you, to the fine folks who lovingly handcraft this incense. It burns long enough to fill your space with a campfire-like scent but not long enough to smoke you out of house and home. The scents are not at all overbearing or artificial, it's like strong enough that you get the vibe of the type of wood the incense is made out of but not so strong that you feel like you're in the middle of a forest fire. We bought the sampler package and the quantity of each scent is represented sufficiently. We can sample each scent many times over in this way. I love this stuff and will absolutely be purchasing more of it.

Fantastic
Wow, these smell so good. They light easy and smell like each flavor is supposed to. I will definitely repurchase this variety pack.

"They All Smell the Same"
Recently purchased these wood scented insence, and I like the woody scent overall, they do burn strong, and smell like a burning wood in a fireplace, a comfortable warm scent. However, after first purchasing the Cedar scents, I thought I would try the Sampler to see what they all smell like, and I hate to say, they all smell the same, literally. Just different colors. However, there is a slight difference in each scent, but it is very slight. Which was a disappointment. And they are small, so they burn out quickly. I would still buy these once in awhile for the woodsy scent. But there is really no difference in each one. They should just label them titled as one wood scent, or add scented oils or resin to them.

A Different Style, But Natural with a Superb Scent
If you're after the sweet, smoky, natural aroma of authentic fired woods, this venerable brand of incense from New Mexico is for you. Close your eyes and you'll be transported to the cabin, canyon, pueblo, campfire or cozy hearth of your choice! The little bricks take some practice standing up; the included ceramic burner in my box has a round hole, not square, which makes it a bit wonky, so I just used my own--a very minor nitpick. And while the bricks don't burn as long as typical cone incense, that's a good thing--they're a bit smokier and the aroma clear and strong. I found them easy to light and wonderfully fragrant; as of this review I've finally tried all the varieties, and none disappointed! Pinyon is new to me and might be my fave for now, and the Balsam Fir was wonderful for Christmas. I don't think I will burn through this generous sampler too quickly, so the price was worth it to me. Neat presentation / packaging, too!

Creates a smoky campfire in the room
These wood incense logs do exactly what they're meant to do -- fill the house with the scent (and smoke) of a campfire. You can see the smoke hang in the air in our small living room. I like the smell, but I'll use them sparingly because I don't want to breathe in the smoke on a continuous basis.

More smoke than I like
Comparing to Paine’s Red Cedar cones. I tried these because Paine’s crumble so easily. Sadly even though the build quality of these bricks is better, the smoke smelled more acrid to me and they smoked like crazy. The house was super hazy after one burn and I had to air it out. That’s what they’re meant to do, so I get it, I’m just used to Paine’s with much less smoke production and a more pleasant scent. But that’s subjective, so feel free to try, it’s not like they smelled bad, just not for me.
