Super classy Seiko
One of the finest Seiko watches. Very classy

The green is not rich and tends more towards a dull black. The numerical and hour marks are not pronounced enough for clarity. Sapphire glass is not clear enough either. Average for me, though there is a cult following for this watch.

7.5" Wrist Size, That's About All for the Strap, But this Alpinist is a Green Gem !!!
This Seiko Alpinist is the 2020 version of one having a near 20-year run, but this one has a new internal 6R35 movement with a 70-hour reserve. You can read the reviews for the SBDC091. It's a beautiful watch with an eye-catching emerald face, a new cyclops magnifier for the date at 3 o'clock, excellent luminescence, and it is simply attractive all around. And, if you get lost in the green forest, you can use this watch as a crude compass! I really like it. Here is the 'however': I do wish Seiko would have included a longer band - say another half inch to an inch is all it would need. As it is, I have a 7-1/2 inch wrist and it's comfortable on the last hitch mark. Flexing the leather a bit near the spring pins seemed to help, but length would have made a bid difference in comfort, as I like to wear my jewelry watches over the wrist knuckle (which is more that 7.5 inches around). All in all, this is a bargain of a watch, a diamond in the rough! Build tough with screw-in crown, it's good for 600 feet of H2O. Get one, and you will be part of a cult following this Alpinist movement from the '60s. Love the looks of this watch! Update 05Jul2024 : For some reason this timepiece began losing twenty minutes per day! Started acting up early this year, so I have sidelined it. Will have to open it up and fix it. Update Nov2024 : I sent it in for repair, and turn-around time from Seiko somewhere in New Jersey was about nine (9) days. Not bad. So, now, after a $300+ experience, this Alpinist watch gains about 15 seconds per week. I believe, Seiko simply changed out the movement with another, because it probably isn't economically worth it to troubleshoot the mechanism. I am happy again, however, with the repair, I paid nearly a grand for this one. fwiw

One of the best Seiko Alpinist models
Rich green dial combined with the leather strap makes it a great timepiece for any occasion. Good movement with good power reserve and the design pays homage to discontinued alpinist models
