nice gift to give to son
amazon delivered quickly โบ - i thought i chose a different compass (the #3) but received the #1 compass. Probably my fault not checking while adding to the cart. Would rather have the leather looking case for the compass instead of the wooden box . overall, it is a nice compass to give as a gift for my son age 29 - he does hike all the time in NC, so it may come in handy should he lose cell phone service (which has the compass app). At this time, i would recommend buying it as it's a great gift to give a son with great wording engraved on it. If Amazon checks back again with me in 6 months, I can write if the compass works well.

I ordered one of these for my teenage daughter, who is growing up fast and getting more independent everyday. I wanted to give her something that would mean something to her down the road. The compass is very nice looking and the engraving is clear and well done. The compass has a lock on hit so you can actually โfreezeโ the needle to point in a desired direction if you just want to display it in a shelf. The only complaint is the case that comes with it isnโt very hardy. Itโs thin and feeling like it will wear down easily. Other than that, I love it
