Image quality
This comes at a great price and is relatively easy to use. However, I find that when I stop it down to more than 6 stops I get a shadow entering the picture from top and middle bottom of the frame that I have to correct in editing. But I don’t really need it to be greater than 6 stops, so for my purposes it’s fine.

Good value v-ND filter- but needs physical stops at Min and Max ❗❓
This comes in a good protective plastic case and fits/threads on the lens very well. There are markings on the filter to indicate where the Max and Min points of the filter are - effectively its physical operating range. The problem being is that the graduating ring has a continual turn, there is no physical stop to stop the ring from turning. This isn't really a problem until you go just outside the max - this is when you get crossover lines (literally looks like a dark cross across the image). If the effective operating range is only between the Max and Min markings, there should ideally be physical stops that prevent you turning outside of the Max/Min Range. I don't want to be looking at the markings to see if I am actually in the effective range and then looking through the view finder/monitor... I want to be able to just juggle the gradient within its range, and be stopped at the limits. At £28.99 (at the time of review), then I would say that is fair for a graduated ND filter WITHOUT physical stops... if any more expensive then I would rate it down below 4* - but happy to rate at 4* based on value.

Well-priced, useful and solidly made
For an 82mm diameter filter, this is competitively priced. Not everyone needs a filter this large, but if you plan to upgrade to lenses with large maximum apertures in the future, especially on a full-frame camera, you can expect their filter threads to be in the 77mm-82mm range, and it's always better to use a larger filter with, if necessary, a step-down adapter than the other way round. As with a lot of the Neewer-branded stuff I've tried, this feels well put together, with the filter thread well machined and a smooth action to the rotating ring that varies the ND strength. There's no distortion visible when looking through the glass and the darkening effect is progressive and even. Because you have to remove your lens's hood to use this filter (in most cases), and the antireflection coatings on the filter are unlikely be of the same standard as on most camera lenses, flare could be an issue when shooting on a sunny day. So far, I haven't had chance to use it in such circumstances, so I can't give a definitive answer on the filter's performance in those circumstances.

Good product, but received with some marks on the glass.
I buy lots of neewer products, but this time I got one that had some markings on the glass I tried wiping with the cloth provided, but didn't go. Otherwise it did what it is supposed to do. May be next one I buy might be good.

Heavy silhuette on mid to max
Do not stack. It's not beneficial as it gives heavy silhuette on mid to max adjustment. If I had known I would have chosen a different model, as you can't add to another filter even if it's slim. Alone, it's ok. The ease of use is great. Wish they would offer a polarised version also.

Value for your money
I have had several ND filters over the years going back to a graduated Cokin of the 1970's which I still have, though that is too small for my more modern lenses. I don't have a high use for them but when I need one this goes the distance. Circular with an adjustable ring to control the amount of light you need for the effect you are after, there is function for being precise even though, in reality, we are talking of thirds or halves of stops when measuring against shutter speeds or f stops. Practically this means you can get shutter drag effects in bright sunlight, should you so wish. This particular model gives a slightly warm tone to images but not enough for me to have to change white balance in post the majority of times. That of course, is a matter of personal taste. It is very comperable in use to my K & F Concept ND filter which I have very securely filed. Somewhere. Indeed, they are similar enough to be able to use interchangeably without having to think about differences. The case is large because of the access pits dug into the foam holder that makes access very easy without the bother of getting finger or palm prints on the glass. It comes with a lens cloth just in case. The control ring is marked for graduation of effect and is resistant enough to hold its position whilst not being difficult to adjust. Overall, this is an easy to use, good value tool and I have no problem in recommending it to your short list.

My daily filter! Top quality. Built to stand demand of photography sessions. Primarily shoot with this filter on my Sony A7Riv it has created some amazing pictures. I have yet to take it off since it arrived. Truly happy with this purchase. It acts as a protective layer for you optical lens and is very easy to remove for quick changes on the go. This filter has 9 stops of filtration for all sorts of photo scenarios. Value was great. For was exact. You won’t regret it. Key Note: Make sure you check your lens front for filter diameter size before purchasing, it seems some negative reviews were due to some not paying attention to this key detail for the lens to work properly. It does not just sit in optical lens, it screws onto the threads and is secure if you got the exact type for your lens. Follow directions and you’re all set. Enjoy!
