Hello!!! Is there a significant difference between this and the one that is just pain relief?

There is neosporin ointment which is very greasy but good. There is neosporin white crème which is very good. About the pain relief it depends how sore "your sore is". Sometimes it does the job for pain. Overall, neosporin ointment whether crème or greasy is very good stuff. Hope this helps.

Do all Neosporin ointments reduce scarring?

Not a 100% sure but it does say pain, itch, scar ointment.

As a general, total item, Neomycin was discovered in 1949. As a tube of Neosporin, the EXPIRATION date is imprinted on the Bottom of the tube. The manufacture date is irrelevant as it is assumed you are buying a 'new' product, and should be rotating your personal stock / supply. The tube I purchased expires March 2022.
