Dista - Refrigerator Water Filter Cartridge Compatible with GE RPWF (Not for RPWFE) (2-Pack)

I'm a repeat customer. This filter has worked great more me. It is a good price and is easy to install. My refrigerator water tastes great.

I've been using these for a couple of years now in our GE Profile French Door refrigerator. I've had one that leaked but in retrospect, I would put that down to poor installation on my part. Otherwise, no problems whatsoever and a great price. No need to buy OEM, you're just paying for the GE badge....

Good fit to replace the name brand filter.

I have a GE fridge that calls for a RFID chip equipped filter. At 50 bucks a pop, this is ridiculous. I removed the label off of the filter that came with the fridge. Next I removed the chip and then taped it to the filter housing in the fridge and replaced the filter with these. I still change the filter every 4 months or so, and if you can get past the 'reminder' that pops up when you get ice or water, it is a hell of a savings. Sad that GE has to hold filtered water hostage for a 50 dollar water filter - where 40 bucks goes to the cost of the chip.

Seems to be a decent and much cheaper cost replacement for the OEM filters. I did notice that these filters weigh considerably less than the originals, which may in fact mean that they are less effective. Regardless, I have been using them and the water from my refrigerator tastes as good as it ever has.

I live in Phoenix and we have very hard water here. I had a water test before having a water softener and RO system installed. The water professional doing the test went to show me how much better the water quality was coming out of the refrigerator because the refrigerator had a filter. At that time I had a Dista filter installed and it was in use for about 3 months. Usage is light as there are only two people in our home. Well to both of our surprise, the refrigerator water was of poorer quality than the tap water. He attributed this to the poor quality of the filter. He advised that I switch back to the GE brand filters and not use bargain filters. Dista may be cheap, but there is no value there. The GE filters cost around $50 each, but that sure beats drinking sediment and chemicals.

I put off replacing my filters for much longer than I'd like to admit. When I finally took the time to purchase, these were easy to confirm their compatibility with my current filter, competitive price, and super fast (1 day!!) prime shipping! Easy to open up and pop directly into connection. No confusing parts or difficult install. Will definitely put these on the calendar for purchase every 6 months ( We don't buy plastic water bottles, so we go through a ton of filtered refrigerator water). Definitely recommend!

I have not noticed a difference between this brand and the expensive brands (twice the price) that my GE refrigeration requires. As seen on YouTube videos, if you have a GE simply remove the chip from the temporary insert and tape it (in same place) on this filter. It works. Of course, this is temporary because I will never again buy a refrigerator that disables the water when the filter reaches it limit and only works with GE filters. -- Okay, my apologies for rambling (smile), in short, there is no noticeable difference in the taste, color, etc. of my water when I use these filters vs. the expensive filters.
