Heat on your schedule for cold Minnesota Nights
We live in Minnesota, where winters can get extremely cold, ranging from -20°F to +30°F. With our previous heated mattress pad, I would turn it on when the kids went to bed to ensure the bed was warm by the time my wife and I turned in for the night. Those days are over! The standout feature of this mattress pad is its ability to connect to a WiFi-enabled app. While the app isn’t winning any design awards, it works well and gets the job done. One of the most convenient features is the scheduling option, which lets you set a specific time for each side of the pad to turn on automatically. No more worrying about forgetting—such a relief! The app also allows for manual controls, letting you turn the pad on or off, adjust the heat level, or set pre-heat options. It’s easy to customize the experience to your liking. There are a couple of minor drawbacks, but nothing deal-breaking. Compared to my previous mattress pad, this one gets much hotter, so it would be nice if the “low” setting were slightly less intense. Additionally, the pad comes with a single control unit instead of individual ones for each side. This means the controller needs to be positioned at the center of the bed, which works fine for a king-size mattress but can feel a bit inconvenient. It also encourages you to leave the control unit on top of the mattress rather than neatly on the floor beside the bed. Overall, this is a fantastic product. It’s smart, efficient, and heats exceptionally well—maybe a little too well! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

It solved most of the complaints I have had with my other electric mattress pads
I have a queen sized bed. I don't have a significant other, so it annoyed me to have two individual controls. All other heated queen size mattress pads had two controls , one at each side of the bed. Each one had to be turned on individually, and the controls were large with their wires and sat on the respective nightstand side of the bed, along with a lot of other things. The heat didn't heat the entire individual areas. This mattress pad has one control that controls both sides at the same time, even if each side having it's own setting. The mattress pad had a control that will heat the pad up very quickly, then when it reaches the desired heat, it will stabilize. I can now lay across both sides of the bed and the heat will be consistent. Did I mention that the control for the mattress pad can be pairs with your sell phone and the single dual control takes up much less space. Like I said this mattress pad is ideal for me.

A Winter Must Have. Quick Heat and WiFi Connectivity
I really like this Sunbeam Mattress Heating Pad, especially at the price point. I upgraded from an older Sunbeam pad to the Sunbeam Connected Restful Quilted. This heating pad heats up much quicker and warmer than my old one. I like to pre-heat the bed and there is a feature for that, but I have not tried that feature yet. Level 5 for 5-10 minutes is plenty so far. The WiFi connectivity is convenient and was the main reason for my purchase of this model. However, connecting the WiFi took some patience and many retries (Unplugging the controller from the wall outlet). You will want the Sunbeam Bedding S2 app, there are two different Apps, at least on iPhone. Choose Bluetooth during initial setup instead of AP Mode. AP Mode didn't function. Once the App is configured it is easy to connect with Alexa. I use Alexa to turn it on before bed and to set an off timer. I took a "star" off for a couple of odd things, not deal killers at all. The connector is at the foot and on top, I can feel it with my feet. If you turn off the blanket with the App you have to wait a period of time before you can turn it back on with the App. Most of the time this is not a problem, but was an initial concern while testing during App configuration. Also of note there is only a single controller for both sides, which works perfect for me.

Exceeds expectations; defines next-gen bed heating. Superior app.
I’ve used heated mattress pads for decades because they’re super-effective, highly efficient, & convenient. They’ve looked like crap til now, & have all been at least 50% ungainly wiring harnesses & controls by weight. Awkward & dumb. Sunbeam set a new standard here, with a single, compact, extremely well-designed controller. It has 1 wall plug, & 1 cable which plugs into the bottom of the mattress pad. That’s for a queen or king, with split zones. You & your partner each want to control your respective side? Download the surprisingly well-designed & well-executed app & use your phone. Setup is easy, control is simple (even scheduling regular run-times), & it hasn’t crashed or lost its Bluetooth connection since I installed a month ago. In fact, 2 weeks in I bought a 2nd Sunbeam & scrapped an inferior product purchased earlier this year. I was amazed at how easy it was to add to the app as a new device, renaming both so we’d know which bedroom we were turning on. Wish list? Sure: a) it would benefit from more heat transfer wire in the “foot pockets,” & b) I’d be happier if they’d up the amps to deliver about 20% more heat on the “high/preheat” setting. That said, no regrets & a strong “buy” recommendation.

Very good quality!
I love this mattress pad! I bought this same sunbeam product in california king and have used it for years. All of a sudden I get failure on the remote and nothing fixed it. I had a hell of a time finding another in cal king so I went with the king. Since the pockets are so deep it actually works! I'm so excited to have it back, I couldn't find any other mattress pad heaters that work with alexa. I love smart home and being able to turn this on so it's warm when I go to bed without going to the bedroom is a life saver! One thing that's annoying is that when you start it with your phone or alexa and its above 5 it will lower to 4 after 1 hour. One way around this on the old app was to turn it off and back on every hour. Now with the update, if you shut it off with the phone or alexa you can't turn it back on with either for 2 hours. Slightly inconvenient, but still worth it! It slay heats up very fast and a low number is plenty heat wise.

Utter junk
I've used a Sunbeam electric blanket with the same controller and the same ability to app control or Alexa control for about 4 years now. But it's just not heating up well anymore, so I figured it was time for a replacement. Since that one worked so well with Alexa and voice control, I thought I'd give this mattress pad a try. My biggest complaint about the blanket was that the top 10 inches or so had no wire in it, so the part up by your shoulders and neck had no heating capability. I had hoped the mattress pad would help offset that. Plus, heat rises, so if any heat is generated it's going to go through me before escaping through the blankets and bedding on top of me. First strike - the app I used is apparently not the same as this app. Second strike - even though you'd think it should be the same infrastructure, the email address I had in the Sunbeam app was not recognized with the Sunbeam 2 app. So apparently, it's a completely different ecosystem, so I had to recreate an account again. Third strike - the voice commands are just a joke. For years I could say, "Alexa, set blanket to 10" or pick any other number. Now it seems you turn it on, and then have to say to INCREASE or DECREASE. Sure, the instructions SAY you can specify a specific number, but when I say "Alexa, set blanket to 8." she tells me she doesn't know how to do that setting. Fourth strike - After the initial wireless setup, Alexa or the app see the blanket, until I turn it on then off. Then it's dead. Unable to be seen or controlled at ALL by the app or Alexa. So I unpaired it, repaired, and once again, same thing. First time, Alexa and the App both could power it on. I could set the temp with the app. But once it's turned off, the app no longer can see it again. Unplugging and replugging do not work. Now, when the app and Alexa are unable to do anything, obviously I can still turn it on with the controller. And as soon as I turn it on by the button on the actual physical controller, suddenly the app sees it again. NOW with the app I can control the temp. But if I turn it off again, either with the app or with the controller, suddenly it is totally invisible to the app or Alexa again. I deleted it and repaired it multiple times, always the same issue. So now it's time to find another alternative. I gave Sunbeam another chance since I had been happy with the blanket for years. This just lost them a customer. Returning this junk and will find a different alternative.

Great alternative to a heated blanket
My son is 8 and he loves to be warm and cozy. He gets under my electric blanket, he will sleep under me like a baby chick under a hen, and he hates to be chilly. He has fleece sheets on his bed (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088SZ61GD) and a wool blanket (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08KQ5H22B), but he wants the bed warm when he gets in it. I let him use my electric blanket, but he said he had to wake up to turn it down / off, and he wasn't getting a good night's sleep. I bought 2 of these (because his brother is 9 and has a bed, too) and they are great!! some people are having technical difficulties, so let me walk you through it: 1. Open the box and scan the QR code to download the SUNBEAM APP. While it is downloading, put the mattress cover on the bed. Ours have the plug at the head of the bed because that is where the outlets are. They are at the edge and are behind their pillows. They do not create a problem. 2. Setup an account on the Sunbeam app and connect the mattress controller to your phone via Bluetooth. Then name your bed. I just have Boone's Bed and Cubby's Bed. Create your schedule(s) if you want. 3. If you have Alexa, then go to the Alexa App, open Skills, and choose the Sunbeam skill. Enable it and sign into your Sunbeam account that you just created through the Alexa app to link them. Now you can say "Alexa turn on Cubby's Bed" and the bed will turn on. If the bed temp is set above 5, you will have to tap the checkmark on the bed control to confirm you want it on, so keep that in mind. That is it. Now just enjoy the even, gentle heat from your mattress pad!

Good product with lots of potential but lacks in certain areas so far.
We previously had a Sunbeam heating pad with one remote controller but one side of the pad stopped working. This was our replacement. We liked the idea that we could preheat the bed with scheduling and the additional idea that we could use voice control (our house is full of smart gadgets) to turn it on or off without fumbling for controls in the middle of the night. I set it up and quickly encountered several issues, some of which I believe Sunbeam can rectify by improving their apps. The Pros: heats very well even on a low setting. Has some timeout and additional protections in place. It feels completely comfortable. Once the app is set up, scheduling and preheating the bed from a different location is handy. The Cons: 1. App setup and syncing wasn’t the easiest but once I had it set up, all was fine. However, I tried logging into the same account on a different device and the mattress pad didn’t even show up. I’d also note that I have a newer Mesh network and was concerned about the 2.4 GHZ channel not being seen but this wasn’t an issue. 2. The scheduling didn’t work. Perhaps I need to just leave the app running all of the time? This clear in the instructions at all. Or perhaps it simply doesn’t work or works intermittently. I’m going to try again today. 3. Voice control (via Amazon Echo/Alexa) is terrible. It’s something they can fix from a programming standpoint. I can manage to get it to almost consistently preheat by saying “Alexa, Preheat my Mattress Pad” and it will turn on both sides, but if I try to set it to a specific number such as, “Alexa, turn my mattress pad to 4”, it completely fails and often says “which setting?” Other times I’ve seen it launch some random song (not kidding.) 4. With voice control, there aren’t any options for separately controlling “Side A” or “Side B.” Both sides come on at the same time at the same setting (again, only one I can get to work is the preheating.) It’s something they can address from a programming standpoint as it’s available in their app but Sunbeam doesn’t appear to be very responsive to its customers. 5. Controller numbers and wifi icon are BRIGHT ORANGE. To the point where you have to turn it upside down as it lights up the room. There’s also no way to dim the readings short of some dimming tape. 6. So while the controller numbers are BRIGHT, there are no lights for the other buttons on the controller. I suppose we will get used to where everything is, but some people are going to have issues finding the buttons they want. 7. Power cord from the controller to the receptacle is VERY short unlike our previous model. Our outlets are behind night stands and not directly behind our King bed. The cord as a result is stretched in the air barely reaching the outlet. It forces the controller to be off center between the two sides. All the company really needed to do was to add another foot to their power cord. 8. Very poor customer support. Actually perhaps one of the worst I’ve ever encountered. I’ve tried calling them in the past and like others have stated over the years, it’s almost non-existent. So I don’t have any high hopes that it’s something they can address over the phone. All we can do is hope that they are reading these reviews and trying to make some effort to improve or fix their product. Some of these things I can live with, but the other items could be addressed. I plan on updating this review in the future assuming I can at least get the scheduling portion working for us..

Brilliant idea!
A wifi electric blanket might seem like overkill, but nothing beats coming home after a late night to a warm bed!

Must have for cold winters!
Must have for Canadian winters! This is my second one and we love it. I do not have any complaints with it. I preheat my bed remotely when I leave work, so when I am home the bed is nice and toasty. Which is lovely especially after a cold night shift. There is safety features so you have to physically press a button on the controller before 1hour is up so it doesn't stay on preheat or high all the time unattended. Bonus it can be paired with Amazon Alexa so you can control it with your voice. We have it setup so we can tell Alexa to preheat the bed.

Heats up very fast.
It works so well. The WIFI connection is thought was a bit of a gimmick. It works amazing and the safety feature does well. Thanks Sunbeam.
