Fluval P25 Submersible Aquarium Heater for Up to 6 Gallons, 25 Watts

I bought the Fluval P25 submersible heater to keep my betta warm. After just 6 months of use, the heater cracked underwater and sadly electrocuted my betta to death. When I inspected the heater, I found visible cracks in the plastic. I’ve attached images showing the damage. After this incident, I researched online and found multiple reports on Reddit and aquarium forums like Reef2Reef from other users who had similar dangerous experiences with this heater. I can’t post links here, but you can search “fluval p25 heater cracked” on Google and see for yourself. This is unacceptable for any aquarium product, especially when it risks the lives of our pets. Please be cautious and consider safer alternatives.

Fluval is supposed to be a good company but I can't keep my Aquarium Temperature bove 24 degrees. The Fluval Aquarium Heater is covered by plastic. Hence it keeps switching off after every few seconds. It is therefore unable to adequately heat the 10 gallon tank. I am disappointed at the poor design and inadequate heating. 😔

I don't know about its durability and how reliable this product is, but so far so good. It does what's supposed to do and it takes very little space in my 20l tank. Just plug it in and let it do its job.

Excelente producto

I’ve had this sitting in my 5 gallon betta tank running nonstop for two years now, and it’s been very reliable. I’ve never had to mess with it just set it and forget it. Only thing is it definitely runs warmer than advertised. My tank pretty much stays right around 80F instead of the 76–78F range they claim. After reading the other reviews, it seems like that’s not just me either. That said, it’s at least consistent. I’d rather it hold a steady temp (even if it’s a bit high) than constantly fluctuate. Overall I’m still happy with it because it’s been dependable for a long time. If you buy it just know your tank might end up a little warmer than expected.

Compré este producto para un acuario de 20L y no trabajó como esperaba. A temperatura ambiente, el agua ronda los 20-21°C. Después de poner el calentador y esperar unas ocho horas, el agua estaba en 21.9°C, lo dejé unas horas más y no subió de 22.2°C. El producto dice que es para acuarios de hasta 25L y me ha decepcionado mucho su actuar. Trataré de devolverlo porque no me sirve así.

Llegó hoy el calentador, en 3 horas que estuvo conectado elevó la temperatura del agua de 22ºC a 28ºC cuando sus especificaciones dicen que la mantendrían entre 24 y 26 grados… en todo ese tiempo en ningún momento el indicador LED dejó de estar prendido. Lo he desconectado y ya pedí devolución pues no voy a sentarme a ver qué tanto más va a calentar el agua… es el modelo p25 en un nano plantado de 5 galones.
