Can you turn the guns?

Yes - the gun turrets all turn. Note that this is a very sturdy toy and my son has had it for three years and subjected it to all manner of abuse.

Shipname on the base of the stand reads new jersey is this the only name or option the buyers has? i served aboard bb-64 uss wisconsin id love to have

We bought this for a project my son did in 4th grade. It did not give us an option to put a specific ship name. It came as the picture shows.

Does this come off the base?

Yes, the ship comes off the base and additionally the helicopter comes off the ship. Nice metal heft and rolls on recessed wheels - but does not float.

Can the ship sit upright on a flat surface when off the base?

Yes, my son never uses the base.

I am dissapointed

I am avoiding products totally made from china or parts manufactured from china. That is the main reason in purchasing from Amazon but was not happy when obtaining this product it is having some parts from china. No offence to products from china but if I wanted chinese products I can buy from my country itself.

Perfect

My son LOVES this thing. Last year every time I asked him what he wanted for Christmas he would say he wanted a metal battleship. He always specified he wanted a metal one. He plays "sinking ship" with it in the sink or the water table. It has withstood a lot of play time and extra rough wear and tear. We did lose the tiny helicopter it came with, but that was to be expected, lol. Allin all It is exactly what he wanted
