I'll start with the bad. The fact that you have to stir this before every use can get annoying. I recently had my little stir stick that comes with the product break in half because I was in a rush and trying to stir too quickly. If the stick falls in, it gets covered in the oil that separates on top and you have to try to hold this tiny stick with slippery fingers. Might want to get a Popsicle stick or something else to stir it with. Also, after continued use I have noticed some darkening of my pits, and it is residue left behind. I do scrub with soap & washcloth but it does not fully remove it. To be fair, I get this with all of the natural deodorants I've tried so I'm used to it. I exfoliate weekly to remove the build up. Important to note that this is not an antiperspirant like others have mentioned, so you will still have wetness. Now on to the pros. This is hands down the best deodorant I've tried, natural or not. I have very sensitive skin in my pits and an allergic to a lot of deodorants, but this one has not caused me any issues even though they have essential oils which I was worried about. Even though I still sweat the same, my armpits do not smell like anything. Like not even a hint of a bad smell. I live in Phoenix and I'm a big lady, and let me tell you if I forget to put on deodorant I will begin to smell within 20 minutes. I was so surprised at how well it eliminates odor that I had my mom sniff my pits and she confirmed they did not smell like anything. In this spirit of honesty, since we've been in quarantine I usually shower once every 2-3 days and this deodorant will easily last me 48 hrs without needing to reapply. So yes the jar is small but it lasts so long and you only need a small amount so it will last quite a while, at least a month or 2. I have the floral scent which is pleasant but honestly the scent wears off rather quickly and it's almost like an unscented deodorant at that point. I have found it dries fairly quickly. I usually put it on right after showering, then apply body lotion & do my hair & such and by then it's dried. Overall, I think the hassle of stirring is worth it for the quality of the product. I believe they also sell a stick version which would eliminate the stirring problem, but I've not tried it because I'm worried the quality might not be the same. This is a great odor eliminator so if you don't mind a little stirring and pit wetness, this is one of the best products out there.

This deodorant is surprisingly effective. I've been wearing Native for years and have been insecure about BO a lot of the time, especially after working out. With this one, though, I have been pleasantly surprised whenever I do the pit sniff test! I was skeptical about a citrus scented deodorant, but in my experience the scent fades quickly, so it seems more like wearing an unscented deodorant. I do reapply deodorant before the gym as a general rule, but on non-gym days, I haven't felt the need to reapply. It seems to have good longevity. My only issue is that it feels tacky. If I touch my armpits, they aren't wet, but if I put my arms to my sides and touch both halves of my pits together, there's a slightly sticky sensation when I pull them apart again. It's kind of uncomfortable. In summary, does it work? Yes. Do I love it? No. Will I order it again? Probably not. Will I use it all up this time? Yes. Update, 2 months later: Well, turns out I am in fact ordering it again. I tried something new once I ran out, and the new product did not work at all. Back to this cream I go - at least for now!

This is my first natural deodorant in a quest to get off of deodorants containing aluminum and endocrine-disrupting chemicals. This product isn't bad, but I will be trying a different brand once I'm finished with this one. Pros: * Smells nice * No skin sensitivity using it * Comparable odor/sweat mitigation as traditional deodorants/antiperspirants. Interesting because this is not an antiperspirant, but I do find myself sweating less with it. I suppose it could be a placebo effect. Cons: * For $10, the jar is laughably small. * The paste must be mixed every time you use it, and it's rather inconvenient to apply vs. a stick deodorant. * If you have any hair on your armpits, you probably need to use twice as much of this stuff to actually work it into your skin, which is probably the biggest downside to this not being a stick/roll-on product. Overall, not a bad product by any means, but at $10 for such a small container, along with it being a bit inconvenient to apply, will have me trying out other products.

I developed a brownish-pink 'rash'/stain on the lower half of my armpit after 5 days of use. It started as just a thin pink 'smile' on the right side but now it is on both sides and the smile is brownish-pink and 2" wide! It does not itch or sting yet. I am trying to return it. Amazon says it is not returnable, but the listing says NOTHING about being nonreturnable. Next note will be to Amazon. It DOES, in fact, WORK for me to control odor. Both jar and lid are plastic. Comes with thick stir stick in jar. Has stayed stirred together for 5 days although I do a little stirring before each use to be certain the baking soda and corn starch are incorporated. This deodorant is OUTSTANDING! I have a skin reaction to almost all store bought women's antiperspirants/deodorants and have found the "natural" deodorants completely ineffective at odor control. I even tried men's deodorants without antiperspirant but they didn't do the trick. I was frankly sick of smelling like a foul barn after working out or even after just waking up after a good night's sleep. After reading the below reviews I purchased 3 natural cream deodorants and have been using them now for the past 2 months. Here is my review comparing them in terms of odor control, comfort of use, and dryness. The 3 deodorant creams purchased were Purelygreat Women's Citrus Cream Deodorant, Crawford Street Lemon Deodorant Cream, and Schmidt's Natural Deodorant Bergamot + Lime. Here are the pluses and minuses for each in order of my preference. Purelygreat Natural Deodorant for Women Citrus: Best Overall Odor control with the best antiperspirant function Pros: Absolutely the best odor control of the 3 products. I can put it on in the morning, exercise, sleep all night and have virtually no body odor the next morning. The smell is not overpowering or "perfumy", it just works as an outstanding neutralizer against BO. The smell starts out strongly of citrus (grapefruit, orange, lime, & cypress) but quickly fades to a light clean scent. It also works as an antiperspirant. Cons: It can cause some skin irritation if it is used immediately after shaving. It has a slightly grainy and tacky texture with application that takes some getting used to. The product does separate and requires frequent stirring. I wish it came with a small plastic stir stick/applicator. Crawford Street Lemon Deodorant Cream Pros: The best smelling of the creams right out of the jar, lightly floral, deliciously lemon, but not as long lasting odor protection. It also works as a light antiperspirant. This cream has the best consistency and texture of the 3 products as it is based in coconut & shea oil. It does not separate. With application it feels silky and moisturizing. Cons: Requires reapplication at the end of the day for improved odor and wetness control. It was the most expensive of the creams and did not come with free shipping. I wish it came with an applicator. Schmidt's Natural Deodorant - Bergamot + lime Pros: Ok smelling, has a bit more musk than the other two and was more gender neutral, although one boy said he didn't like smelling of fruit." It was the lest expensive of the 3 creams. This cream does not separate. It comes with a great little plastic applicator. Cons: It is my least favorite in terms of smell. In general it did not work with my body scent, required multiple reapplications for improved odor control and seemed to just cover up the BO instead of neutralizing it. It was the least effective antiperspirant, The cream was chalky and slightly crumbly. It is also irritating to the skin if used after shaving.

I purchased this item because it is rated with an EWG verified seal, which is always a good thing. I have the stick version, and was happy with it but the problem with both items is that they become dried out , and very hard to use. The roll on type, has a nice smell , and is effective, but it’s impossible to use due to its dryness. The jar version, initially was useable, the first month, but now it is hard as a rock. How do you make use of this jarred product when you can’t get any out?? I don’t know. I will use a scraper device, something, like a metal spoon to extricate the product . The jar has been stored accordingly , to the manufactures specifications, and I had the lid on it since receiving it. I really cannot recommend this deodorant , not due to the product itself, but the problems with consistency and usability once opened. What good is it if it can’t be removed from the jar? It’s feels like touching a rock.

My review will be a little bit "TMI", so skip this if you are a delicate type of person. :) This is a great product and it has miracle powers of knocking out underarm odor. I have very sensitive skin and I recently had to change all my personal grooming products to things that do not contain any of that horrible perservative that starts with an "M" (excuse me for failing to recall the name!) as well as no toxic things like SLS. Directly attributable to my skin allergies and overall dry skin, I sometimes don't want to bathe for a few days at a time. So I was able to experiment with this product and I was amazed at what it was capable of doing! I bathed and then put a dime-sized dollop on each armpit. I noticed that I had no odor for about 3 days, even though I do have to do a fair amount of work around the house and was experiencing damp armpits at times. On the third day, I noticed a slightly skunky odor starting, so I decided to apply more of the product. It knocked out the odor within about a half hour, and then it kept me odor free for another 3 days. I believe that I could have kept doing that, if I did not have opportunity or desire to bathe. It cracks me up that this product can remove odor as well as prevent it. I believe that all airlines should stock this product and pass it out to the offensive passengers. ;) UPDATE: After using this product for about 3 weeks, I noticed one day that I developed a sort of "rash" under each arm. I was so worried that it was a reaction to the product itself, but that didn't make sense because I had used it for a few weeks without any irritation at all. I realized that I had been sweating and had not been wise to dry off, and due to some hard physical work I was doing... I probably just got a thing I can only compare to diaper rash. It's like your skin is slightly puffy and red, and you just need to clean and stay dry, let it rest. That is exactly what I experienced, and I attribute that to a particularly stressful day of hard physical work without taking the wise action to dry off. I used the old "stick deodorant" for a day to let the skin recover. Then I happily went back to using this product and have not had a repeat incident of the weird rash, which was totally just a heat rash or wetness irritation. This product is deodorant but not antiperspirant. If you are doing something that makes you sweat, you can just pat your pits with some toilet paper when you are in the loo. But it's not a big deal normally for me, as I only get the tiniest bit wet feeling when working normally at my household tasks and when exercising outdoors.

Okay. I have been on a long journey to finding the right all natural/alumim free deoderant. Prior to this one, I used Lavalin which worked well but did not last very long. Once I was done with that, I switched to this after finding it on Blissful Miss ( a good site that lists all natural/ organic products and ranks them using user reviews and the EWG ratings). Reading through the user reviews myself made me say yes to this product despite its high cost. So, here are my thoughts: Pros: Not greasy, great clean smell. No irritation or thick buildup. Lasts all day and, dare I say it, noticeable decrease in perspiration. Cons: This product costs way too much for the quantity. Pictures are very deceiving. (Take a look at my picture to see how the size compares). This bottle is TINY. Also, I did not receive a stirring stick. Instead I used a plastic knife to sit the product and apply. Overall, I rates it 4 stars due to the cost and quantity. I have gone through so many different products in my journey towards all natural and finally with this one I don't have to worry about how I smell or skin irritation. I wish it didn't cost so much but I'll stick with it.

I waited to submit a review because I wanted to give this a fair shot. At first I wasn't sure if I liked this but after using it for a while I have to say that I will continue to purchase this product. The things I didn't like at first are: 1. you have to give this a stir everyday before using because the ingredients tend to separate a bit. It comes with a stir stick which fits nicely inside the jar so I just keep it in there. 2. The texture feels wet & goopy (although it is smooth), not nice and dry like antiperspirant sticks. That's it, but I got used to it and those things no longer bother me at all. This stuff works so well, better than anything I've ever used before whether natural or not. It doesn't stop you from sweating because it's a deodorant not antiperspirant but I found that over time my body adjusted and I tend to sweat less than before (probably because the sweat glands aren't being blocked anymore so don't need to overproduce). I used to sometimes reapply previous deodorants to freshen up but this stuff keeps me so fresh with one application, there is zero sweat smell even when I wake up the next day. Amazing product and reasonable price as you need to use very little.

I was hoping this product would be a good replacement for one I used to use. However, it requires to be stirred with a teeny little spatula that is inside the container which I wouldn't mind except the product settles like cement in the bottom so more work then I want. It seemed to work well, however I had a major allergic reaction to it and for the last week have had burning rashes under both my arm pits. Disappointed.

Absolutely the best natural deodorant I have ever tried. Cream application is weird to get used to, but once you do you will love it. Also you don't need much which is hard to judge at forst woth the applicator stick. BUT. I smell like citrus all day long and nothing else. No irritation and it seems to moisturize my underarm skin as well.

I've tried several natural deodorants. This one offers the best performance, by far. The scent (Spices) doesn't carry through clothing, however I haven't smelled any body odor since I've started using it, even after two days without showering (applying once per day). That said, I can't give this a 5 star review. Of the natural deodorants I've tried, it's the most time consuming and annoying to apply. The product separates very quickly, and so each day I have to stir together the oils into a solid paste for at least a minute, before using. The provided stirrer is short and ineffective. If I wouldn't have to do this, I would easily rate it higher. Further, the price is expensive for the amount received, compared with other natural deodorants. Having said that, I will likely repurchase, since its performance is unmatched.
