What I expected, Bought to use for teeth cleaning. Back in the day I would use charcoal out of camp fire the same way. I see other options for adding to cooking. Thinking it could add a hint of smoke flavor? Not good for Wife with her Meds, so it limits me. Lots of Pros and Cons on use in foods. If you do use it, think sparingly, and do homework. ASIDE: The zip lock is worthless. I put it into a different container, do the same for similar products. Light powder and Zip-locks don't work so well.

* see update below I learned that powdered activated charcoal is what they use on ambulances to adsorb things that have been consumed that are toxic. I had heard from other sources of the many things that it can be used for like gas, bloating, and so much more. It's quite fascinating to dig in to it's uses. After doing some research I decided that I wanted the kind that is made from coconut fibers. I'm glad to see that this won't expire if I keep it in a cool dry place. This should be plenty to last us forever. ------------------------- Update This powder if very fine. You can see where I'm storing in the cupboard. It gets all over stuff if you're not careful. This is with the bag closed. Just the leftover stuff from using some gets on the bag. There is no product info on the back. All the info is on the front.

It tends to be gritty..there's fine powder but there's also larger pieces that make it unpleasant to use.you can use a fine mesh strainer to remove them but it's unhandy..

Good for teeth whiting and facial masks.
