Exactly what I wanted to and it has a inbuilt measuring tape, accurate weight measurement and easy to store, lightweight.

SAMSONITE MANUAL LUGGAGE SCALE, BLACK, ONE SIZE. I bought this for one purpose, to weigh my carry-on luggage. On my last international trip, I checked in at the gate and my carry-on luggage was 5 pounds overweight. I had to either check it or reduce the weight, but 5 pounds is a lot of weight to reduce from your luggage. Luckily, the gate agent didn’t re-weigh my carry-on before boarding so I lucked out. There are lots and lots of luggage scales on AMAZON. Most are digital that require a button-size battery. I wanted to avoid one that needed a battery. In doing my research, I came upon a travel magazine article on different luggage scales and the Samsonite was rated one of the most accurate compared to similar priced digital scales. Although this is a very simple scale to use, using it right out of the package will result in an inaccurate reading. You have to set the two (red and black) arms to the 12 o'clock position by turning the black center knob in the middle of the face. The black arm will show the pounds. The red will show the ounces. After setting the two arms to 12 o'clock, I tested its accuracy by individually weighing 2.5-pound, 5-pound, and 10-pound dumbbell / barbell plates. The scale was very accurate. If you are going to buy a luggage scale, be certain to get one with a HOOK. The hook makes weighing luggage or anything similar so much easier. This is small and light enough to carry with you to the airport. I read a report that airport luggage scales can be very inaccurate and read OVER the actual weight. The SAMSONITE SCALE might help if this happens.

It's light, accurate enough, doesn't need batteries, and is reasonably priced. A win all around. Ignore the review that don't understand the hands. The black hand is NOT ounces, and the scale can read high if used incorrectly.. The correct way to use this scale is to zero the black, pick up the item, and the black will show the highest (maximum) weight registered when the item is picked up. Jerk it up? It'll read high. SMOOTHLY elevate the item and the black needle will be accurate. Mine tested close enough with cast iron exercise weights that I also verified on our human scale. I've used a similar item to check available propane in my RV tanks for 10 years.

After looking at several models, I decided to buy this luggage scale. Its hook is large, it's very easy to operate, and I no longer worry about my luggage being overweight.

works great for cheapskates like me trying to get by with a large carry-on or leave just enough space in a first bag. haven't tested over 50lbs. love the second arrow that saves your measurement - easier than reading the scale while holding everything up.

Great - and no batteries!! We are always "Close" to over weight so a scale is important. The last two seemed to be unhelpful when we needed them - (Batteries dead) This one is always ready!!

It is better measurements if it may be till 50 Kg.It is compulsory to measurements 50 kg for our daily life. Please If you have to measurements 50Kg same like this product it may be better measurements for our daily life.

Locate the tab behind the package designed to easily remove the scale from the packaging. Works as advertised, just abit big as compared to digital scales.

Bought this because I dont want to get caught with electronic scales if the battery fails. Seems to work well as others have said it does seem to overweight by 1 kilo which is fine because you get a nice surprise at the airport when you thought you were over and you are actually under!
