Is this tested on animals?

I know dryer sheets put a coating on fabrics which decreases absorbency. Does liquid fabric softener do the same thing?

Yes, liquid fabric softener does have the same property. It's not recommended you use fabric softener on Microfibers, Sportswear, Towels, Flame-resistant clothing and water repellent fabric. I hope this helps.
