Excellent quality. The only style that can take care of my nails now due to their thickness. Much easier to use vs. the standard small clippers. Saw these at the podiatrist and was happy to see them available online.

I should have bought these long ago

This nail clipper is very sturdy, like something you’d find in a well stocked tool chest. I had to purchase these to help clip my husband’s toenails, which grew thick after they developed a fungus which has been hard to cure. I think my only wish is that these were slightly sharper, or that I was a bit stronger. They are well made — don’t get me wrong. I almost wish they were ratcheted to assist a user like me who has arthritic hands. I do think they are well made.

Rock solid, built to last, sharp but, could be sharper. The buidl quality is why I did not send these back as I intend on running a 220 grit sandblock across the backside of the cutting surfaces to make it even sharper than factory. Yes, still gave it 5 stars because the quality of the clipper/nipper is much better than anything else I have found on Amazon. Classic case of "You get what you pay for".

Easy to trim the thickest nails with professional results. They aren’t the easiest to open up, but they’re super easy to cut with and arent a problem once you get used to the tight safety clasp. I’d recommend them to everyone with thick nails.

Well, this compound action nail clipper looked like just what I wanted for clipping thick toenails. Unfortunately, it was so poorly made in some areas that it was only barely functional. When the cutting edges of the clipper were ground at the factory, a small burr was left on the outside surface. This made the cutters effectively dull. They were so dull that the skated off the first nail I tried to clip. I tried carefully stoning the profile of the cutting edges and that helped a little. I think the whole profile of the cutting edges is wrong. For $50, this is not worth bothering with. A conventional large nail clipper from the drug store works much better and has better mechanical advantage. See Revlon or similar. Oh, and the small hook that keeps the clippers closed is also made wrong. The hook is too sharp and makes opening and closing it very difficult. I filed that away, too, and that helped. But overall, as nice as this tool looks, it really doesn't work. Don't waste your money. Not recommended.

Despite the higher price, these nail clippers are far superior to most others, they are superbly engineered and a delight to use. With the longer handles and double hinges, clipping tough toenails is easy. Should last a lifetime.
