This is a heavy metal reproduction of the oiler. It fit in with some force (as it should) and holds my sling in place with no issues.

Made my Carbine M1 look original again
I inherited the Carbine M1 after my dad had passed away. He lost the original oiler probably and whittled a stick in place of it to use the strap that goes with the rifle. Buying this replica oiler was the perfect addition my newly inherited rifle. I also bought a replica hunter green strap to go with my rifle. Looks better now.

This is a perfect replacement for the oiler that was original to the carbine. It fits perfectly and shares the original design.

Does the job.
This looks like it is accurate to the W W II pattern. Unfortunately the M1 Carbines I have have the thick D tab pattern slings. I can't put this in with that pattern. So I have seen the other pattern with the smaller tab. I need to get two of those for the two M1 Carbines I have.
