Made of strong plastic so they dont rust while I look for treasures on the beach. It makes it easy while sifting through the sand. The pinpointer also makes it easier to zero in on my finds. I like them.

A sand scoop is a must for beach detecting. Personally I like using a non-metal scoop for obvious reasons. This scoop seems quite solid - it is WAY sturdier than the green plastic scoop I had used previously. I mean there's no comparison. I'm really curious to see how it holds up over time. The handle is reinforced to some extent. The open-ended handle allows me to hook in into a loop on my finds pouch for easy carrying. I think if you use this thoughtfully you'll be very happy. The trowel is perfectly adequate for the soft top sand, and can scoop up the harder shell-packed sand underneath, but it's about equal to the 84 cent version at Wal-Mart as far as I can tell so far. I'd say the scoop itself is worth the price of admission Combine this scoop with a pinpointer and you'll be in great shape for efficiency

Very durable and sturdy. We used it to dig up findings from the metal detector, but also a great way to go shelling! The thick plastic takes away concerns of it rusting from the ocean water, and it is the farthest thing from flimsy. The design allowed us to dig down into the wet sand and let the water from the tides wash away the sand, leaving beautiful shells in the basket. Definitely recommended for a variety of uses.

I love shelling and this is perfect for cleaning shells or scooping and sifting shells from sand on the beach. The material is durable and appears to hold up well. The shovel is sturdy and used at the beach and in my garden at home. This can be used for all ages. I purchased this for myself, 69, but my grandchildren enjoy using it as well.

Cheap set to go with a metal detector I got for Christmas for a kid. Didn't want to shell out much more money after getting the metal detector so this was perfect for him to go searching in sand at the beach. It's plastic so it's not going to work with heavier sand or dirt I presume. Great starter set for a child just starting out with a metal detector at the beach I'd say though. Happy with this purchase.

We purchased this for shell hunting at the beach. I have problems with my hands from rheumatoid arthritis. This product was easy to hold, lightweight, sturdy, and made of a pretty decent size. The lightweight feature allowed me to keep a good grip on rough waves. My kids were able to use this with ease as well.

My 12 year old daughter wanted to catch some sand crabs for bait. The bucket worked just fine for about the first hour. She wasn't digging hard and it was under water so the surf was kicking up the sand pretty good. It still works for straining out sand crabs, but until I invest in a metal strainer, a zip tie will have to do to maintain some rigidity and keep it from cracking any further. Hopefully.

Wonderfully sturdy sifter scoop is great for digging up treasures in sand or loose dirt. I really like that it was sturdy polycarbonate rather than metal as I could stick my pinpointer right in the scoop to check for metal coins, rings etc. without worrying about the scoop setting the detector off. Other metal scoops require you to dump the contents out on the ground to pinpoint for targets. The trowel is also strong but light enough to be an easy addition to your pack.

Looks pretty good! It seems to be made from recycled plastic. I'll give it a try on the beach when I have time.
