I have several of the standard non controllable heat mats that work, but they only heat to about 6-8° over ambient temp. I got these specifically for cactus seedlings and they work well. I’m able to set a temp well above ambient and they’ll reach and maintain that temp giving me faster seedling growth rate and excellent germination rates. The controller makes it nice that you can plug it in with the light timer and have the heat off at night once seedlings get a bit older to produce a more natural day/night temp swing, this makes cacti seedling more hardy. I do several thousand cacti seedling in fall so they can stay in the germination tents over winter before I need the tents for spring veggies and these mats give me great results. The Ferocactus wislizeni seedlings in the included picture are 28 days from seed sowing date and are 2x the size they’d be with the old heat mats, they are pencil eraser size at less than a month from sowing. I’ll be buying a few more of these before long to replace the old style mats.

I’m a new grower and i see many reviews complaining about the heat of the mat. You’ll know it’s working if you see condensation on the bag or container you’re using and mine is doing its job. Maybe the heat is a little low but I don’t know. What I do know is that I’d rather my germination take longer than my seed burn up. It works, it’s small, and it was good value

This heating mat, temperature sensor and thermostat work okay. It doesn’t seem to be able to get up to the temperature I want, but it does work in the lower range.

It works just like they said it would, nothing difficult about using it.

Price dropped 1 dollar making this an even better value. Simple to remember how to change settings (don't need to save the manual) Temperature in my growing chamber stays steady through normal room temp fluctuations. Note though that this mat is not intended to create a large rise in temperature. I use in a 68 to 72 degree room to raise temperature in my bin to 77 degrees or so. Just 2 days on the mats and my beans were spreading their cotyledon leaves! Though this product does not come with a heat controller, they run at a constant 20w low power draw. This makes them warm, but certainly not hot. The perfect temperature to assist with germination. Do water a bit more frequently to compensate for the warmer conditions of course and all should go well.

I use this for brewing Kombucha tea. I put my 2 gallon jugs on top of mat, set it for 85 degrees, and leave it brewing for about 9 days. Seems to do the trick. As a test, I took a regular thermometer and put it alongside the jugs, under the towel that covered the jugs; the thermometer read 84 degrees. So it seems to be working. 85 is barely noticeable as being warm, so it's an easy job for the blanket... but in our colder climate here it makes a big difference to brewing at a constant brewing-friendly temp. This is a great no-muss, no-fuss method for brewing. Any spills on mat can be wiped off easily, the unit turned on and off easily, don't have to fuss with moving the blanket... so all in all, seems to work really well.

The controller is a bit large for the setup.. Not sure how long it will last or how efficient it is.. time will tell.

Funktioniert super und ist Temperatur geregelt. Da mein Setup in einem nicht beheizten Keller steht und das San Light nur 16-18h angeschaltet ist muss im Winter die heizmatte her um Wachstums Hemmungen zu vermeiden. Bisher bin ich sehr zufrieden schätze die matte auch eher sparsam ein, verwende sie in Kombination mit gummi Dämmungs Matten als untersetzer. Von Ende Oktober bis Ende Februar sehr nützlich.

They work great! I purchased 2 for keeping my very expensive lithium batteries for my solar system warm. The batteries should never go below freezing. I built a insulated box and place the mats under the batteries and set the temperature to 10 degrees C. They draw very little current for what they produce. I used two for redundancy if one fails. I cannot express enough how well they work and use very little power. The controllers show a temp difference of about .4 degrees so they are not perfectly accurate but for the price they are awesome. user friendly to set up. Build quality looks good. Highly recommended.
