A traditional pocket 'analogue' radio, with no 'digital' time delay!
I have purchased a few of these Sports 925 AM/FM radios from Roberts for myself and friends, which are designed and engineered in the UK. It’s a traditional old-school pocket ‘analogue’ radio with AM/FM controls, a clear quality sound and simple rotary tuning - and a couple of quality AA batteries (not supplied) should last ages (unlike with many DAB radios). If you like listening to live sport, then transmission of BBC Radio 5 Live or talkSport on analogue Medium-Wave is instantaneous, without any digital time-delay! Time delay has long been identified as a problem with ‘digital’ broadcast media, which is not something that you experience with AM radio. This will not have gone unnoticed by fans attempting to listen to sports commentary whilst attending a sports event. Where it would have once been possible, for example, to tune into Test Match Special (TMS) on BBC Radio 4 Long-Wave and hear live commentary at exactly the same time as events were happening at the ground; attempting to do the same via digital radio now incurs a lag of several seconds, and internet radio services are even worse. AM/FM radio is also an essential back-up in an emergency. It’s particularly reassuring to know that a reliable Medium-Wave service is still provided by the BBC nationwide. Not only does it cover more remote areas that can’t get other signals, it could also prove invaluable in an emergency when other means of communication fail. It also means that in the event of a local power cut, which knocks out the internet, DAB, FM and mobile phone signals; MW can continue to provide news and information – a feature that may be imperative in times of national crisis. This is a lovely little 'analogue' pocket radio from Roberts that is well made at an affordable price and with a very pleasant audio; and in light of the unique dependable features of AM radio, not least its zero time delay when listening to live sports commentary, it must surely continue to have a place within the broadcast spectrum for many years to come!

Parfait 👍🏼
Je suis contente de ma petite radio, elle va me suivre partout. J ai été impressionné par la qualité audio, étant donné qu elle est petite je pensais pas avoir un aussi bon haut parleur. Mais il faut dire qu il s agit d une marque de qualité. Merci

Excellent little radio
Never been disappointed with a Roberts product. This one bought as a replacement for a small Bush one which had done quite well but had to be set up from scratch each time the batteries wore out which was quite often! This Roberts model is an old school non digital one with manual tuning - ok by me. Controls are solid and the design is nice and the speaker has a great sound too. Will probably take with us on holiday as well.

Good Small Radio
Found this to be a good quality radio, handy size, and sounds good. This may be purely where I keep it, but its ability to stay standing up could be, let's say, a bit better.

Great little radio.
Great little radio - well worth paying a little extra for. Good reception, good weight and stands up firmly. Replacing a disappointing cheaper make of radio that had bad reception and and fell over all the time.
