Does it leave a residue?

It is almost impossible to remove. It is extremely adhesive and is not really meant to be removed.

I need to seal a microwave vent that's letting cold air in during the winter, and then remove it after the winter. Is the adhesive removable?

The adhesive is strong, but if you warm it with a hair dryer you should be able to remove it, then use alcohol to remove the residue.

Will this tape stop smoke?

If you mean smoke from the joints of a hot stove pipe, no. It is not meant for extreme high heat situations. It is fine for furnace duct joint sealing or joints in a vent pipe. It is not meant for high heat ducts like stove pipe or flues that will get too hot to touch.

If I use this to tape the seam of my RV skirting to the RV vinyl siding, will it stay through winter and come off without damaging the RV next spring?
