NYC Nightlife In One Book
Not a huge fan of books with words .. and this book is definitely it for me .. Love the visuals, the flyers and the nightlife that New York had to offer back in the 80’s and 90’s .. If you know anyone who’s a fan of club’s and the nightlife but never got to actually witness it for themselves then this book would be a great gift for them ..

If you were there back then...you should own this book now!
Holy CRAP! I'M IN THIS! It's just a small b&w of me, but its me. I wanted to relive those hazy, hot, & humid nights beyond the velvet red ropes in NYC circa 80's &90's. I STILL have some of the promo items passed out to the throngs of those tragically hip kids, standing around looking bored or dancing through the sweaty fog to house music. Nowhere else was this happening at this level...and has sadly passed into old tales I tell my kids at night when I tuck them in. This book is fantastic! You had to be there to really appreciate it, but this book captures early club promotions.

Beautiful reproductions of the flyers and a grab-bag of interesting ...
To know a city, and I mean to truly know it, you must know it at night. For that's the time when a city truly comes alive. Beautiful reproductions of the flyers and a grab-bag of interesting first-person accounts brings to life this book that documents, through visual storytelling, what New York nightlife was during the late 80's and 90's. In all, it helps paint a picture of what the Big Apple was once like. And though it will never be like that again, to be able to visit it merely by opening up these pages -- that, my friends, is a wonderful thing.

and there is no better storyteller than the author
This book is a thoughtful, and necessary collection of flyers (and memories) definitive of the period's music, encapsulating a significant part of the cultural narrative at the time. The 1990's was a boon for many genres of music, particularly hip-hop and house, and there is no better storyteller than the author, Stretch Armstrong. Perusing each page of flyers gives the reader the sensation of entering a time machine and re-living the music, attitudes, and moments of a by-gone, yet important era of nightlife, and contemporary culture. Kudos to the authors for the idea, and saving all those flyers for their significance nearly two decades later.

I miss breakfast at Florent
Definitely a niche item. If you were in NYC at this time and active in the Manhattan club scene it will bring back a flood of memories. Also cool just from a design perspective.

Great book
Living in NYC & being in the music biz I loved seeing the old club flyers. I lost so many over the years so now I have really cool ones in a book.
