“Darling, the light isn’t working in the oven” I said to my wife. “You’ve broken it” she replied. Honestly, it wasn’t me. We've had the Bosch oven for 3 years and I suppose the bulb had just packed up and gone to meet its maker. "Don’t worry, I’ll get a replacement bulb on Amazon, and it should be here in a day or two" and she answered, “you’ll never be able to insert it, you’re hopeless at doing things like that.” My wife is usually right. She always criticises me when I try to insert things, that I’m all fingers and thumbs and often she says that I’m trying to put it in the wrong hole (and with her that’s an absolute no, no). The new bulb arrived very quickly and somehow, I managed to unscrew the old one. With instructions from my wife, I attempted to insert it. “Up, right, left a bit, down a bit”, she shouted, reminiscent of the 60s/70s TV series ‘The Golden Shot’ and “you’re nowhere near the hole” (how many times have I heard that over the last 30+ years). Then suddenly it slipped in. “I’m in!” I exclaimed with a smug look on my face. “Well, that makes a change” she said, “and no mess either, because normally once you get it in you immediately make a mess.” Now about three weeks after my near flawless insertion I constantly remind her about how good I was at putting it in. Unfortunately, she is not impressed and mumbles something about why I can’t do it like that for all my insertions, but I have no idea what she is going on about.

Oven bulbs.
Just a standard haloge bulb. First bulb blew in new oven . Needed a spacer attached to bulb holder. This stopped the bulb from overheating.
